Heisman trophy fell off. Just doesn't seem like it holds a ton of meaning anymore. Like last year when Ingram won it was just like "oh neat," then 2 mins later I was past it.

The more I ponder this, the more I can see how anyone could make a case for atleast 5 players [RGIII, Honey Badger, Montee Ball, Luck, Barkley]. Such a wide open race.

You can't make a case for Luck. Ball and Barkley, meh.
RG3 and Mathieu are the only two who deserve it in my mind.
This year literally has no real deserving winners of the Heisman, but in that, you might actually get a real winner...not this "QB or RB from a Top 5 team that isn't really good" selection. Ala, the Jason White, Mark Ingram, Troy Smith, Eric Crouch type winner.
Griffin had a great season, but completely shitting the bed against Okie State leaves me "meh".
Luck had a great season and is the best player in CFB, but he didn't have a good game versus Oregon.
Richardson had a great season, but isn't the reason his team 11-1, and Montee Ball has a better resume as a running back despite being a cherry picker.
Case Keenum had an awful game versus Southern Miss.
Kellen Moore was the best QB in college football all season, but lets be honest, no one is voting for Kellen Moore nationally, unfortunately.
Brandon Weeden isn't the best player on his team (Blackmon is)
Barkley had a big season, but he wasn't lights out early on and plays for a team that doesn't matter.
Tyrann Matthieu makes a lot of plays and is a buzzsaw, but you need to be Charles Woodson to win the Heisman as a CB, and Matthieu can't cover like Woodson.
Russell Wilson will split votes with a guy on his own team (Ball).
I saw Luke Kuechly was getting some ESPN votes. lulz. He's good though.

All of these guys have warts...big warts.
What are your thoughts on Tyrann Mathieu ? He's seemed to have the big moments people like to see from a Heisman candidate.
