I'm almost physically sick. It's insane how much this is effecting Indy too...EVERYONE is upset...most understand, but it doesn't make it easier to say goodbye.

The 49ers are not looking to get into the Peyton Manning sweepstakes at this time and instead are focused on re-signing QB Alex Smith, according to a team source.

The 49ers have an offer on the table to Smith, who like Manning is represented by agent Tom Condon.

According to league sources, the Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets, Redskins and Seahawks will pursue Manning. The Broncos, Chiefs and 49ers also had been discussed by general managers around the league as teams that could be interested in making a run at Manning.

it sucks, but some Indianapolis fans are just dumb saying they are cancelling their season tickets and whatnot.

Honestly, there is a reason to be sad and I understand why fans might be upset but you have to think about both parties.

This could be the best thing for Manning himself. The Colts have too many holes, it's doubtful that Manning was going to win another Super Bowl with them by the end of his career.

Would you rather see Manning's career end in disappointment as a Colt or have him get another chance with a legitimate contender?

I wish nothing but the best for him, as everyone does. I have little to no doubt that where ever he goes, he will make them significantly better immediately.

I just hope he stays healthy and finishes career on his own terms.

It won't happen, but I almost want Luck to hold out and demand a trade like Eli did with the Chargers just to stick it to the dumb ass fans that think like that.

I think Gonzo just means that it is surreal that Peyton Manning is no longer our QB...we've had him for so long.

He has a freakin hospital named after him here.

Yeah for real I get that, but the fact is that city and those fans have been spoiled rotten. I'm sure it is still tough and it sucks but they should be thankful. I'm more talking about the fans that are saying they're going to stop rooting for the team than Gonzo.

Just saw on ESPN that the Broncos will talk to Manning to see if he is open to coming to Denver.

49ers - they are ready to win now, play in a very week division. They can bring in Wane with Manning or go for Wallace or VJax to give him a WR. They have the D, the line, the running game and the TE.
This is scary, but could be possible. I think the 9ers have $38m to spend, if I'm not mistaken. That's easily enough to bring in Manning + Wallace. I think that combo would be ridiculous. More so then VJax IMO. VJax is great, but I worry about his motivation. He seems like the kind of guy to me who wouldn't mind coasting after signing a new deal. As long as the niners get Manning, you can't go wrong with either of these other WRs. Hell Manning might even make Crabtree a star.

Even if they can't get one of those WRs, I think they will draft a WR in the first round. Obviously, they won't be as good as VJax or Wallace, but that offense is going to drastically improve one way or another.

Sounds like Reggie Wayne is interested in going wherever Peyton goes. Whatever team it may be, they would be smart to sign both as a package.

According to Mike Francesca, his sources told him the Manning family prefers Peyton stay in the AFC. They want to avoid the possibility of him facing Eli in a conference championship.

WFAN just reported the Jets, Seahawks and Broncos have reached out to Peyton. Jets never learn......

I read the same thing this morning, but I honestly thing thats the best fit for him. Why the hell would he go to the Cards. No TE, a busted RB (who I do like though) and 50/50 line at best. If he wants to win its 49ers. (Although I wish it would be the Skins for 3 years)

And they should bring Jeff Saturday as well.
