I think another plus for Denver, is they have the cap room to sign the players needed to really try and go on a run with Manning. Right now they have over forty million in cap space, enough to bring in Manning and Reggie Wayne or whatever other players the front office thinks it needs to make a Super Bowl run. And with Manning on the team, free agents will definitely be looking at Denver.

Arizona on the other hand has under five million in cap space, they're going to have to cut their LT, Levi Brown just to sign Manning. Does Peyton really want to play behind that kind of oline?

Exactly why I think he ultimately picks Denver.

Great point. Didn't know what their cap situations were like.

Yeah I think he will be a Bronco.

I don't think his numbers would be nearly as good in Denver working with Demarius Thomas as his #1 (depending on if he gets Wayne/Clark) outside in the cold than if he played half his games in a dome working with Fitz. If it is from a pure numbers perspective, I don't see it being even close.

Tough to say but I think he could do wonders with a trio like Thomas, Decker, and Royal.

Especially Royal in the slot. I can see him catching 100 balls with Manning.

The reports have been that Pat Bowlen's (the Bronco's owner) health has been declining rapidly. He wants to win one more time before he goes. If that's true he's probably already promised Peyton that he will max out the budget to sign whatever players it takes to win. I could definitely see Wayne and Clark both joining Manning in Denver, as well as other free agents.

It's definitely exciting. I like Tim, and would be happy if he stayed on the team. But you can't pass up on Peyton Manning. The situation is perfect.

Demaryius Thomas wide right, Reggie Wayne wide left, Eric Decker in the slot. Maybe copy some of that classic Colts offense when they were killing it with Marvin, Reggie, and Stokley. Unstoppable? I hope he signs with the Cards.

Anyone else think there is still a dark horse lurking in this thing a la last year with Asomugha?

I honestly didn't follow Asomugha's team visits like I know of Manning's. But I can't see him signing with a team if he hasn't visited with them. You never know though.

If memory serves.. I don't think Aso had even heard from the Eagles until an offer dropped in his lap out of nowhere.

Now granted, Aso wasn't coming off of a serious neck injury either.. so a visit and physical wasn't really as important as it would be with Peyton. But I haven't heard anything to suggest Peyton has been throwing in front of Elway and the Cardinals brass either. So they're in a sense going in on this in blind faith that Peyton has indeed healed from this injury and will be back to normal in time for the beginning of the new season.

Peyton Manning with Demaryius Thomas would be unfucking real.

                          Gotta love AJ Smith...

Even as he protested that he could not care less where Peyton Manning ends up, Chargers General Manager A.J. Smith still had some fun Saturday while attesting to his continuing rancor toward the First Family of quarterbacks.

"I don't know, and I really don't care," Smith said when asked Sunday if he thought Manning would end up with one of the Chargers' AFC West rivals. "I concentrate on the Chargers."

Manning has visited the Broncos, whose owner said he'll do whatever it takes to to land the four-time NFL MVP, according to the Denver Post. Meanwhile, Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt confirmed his team is interested in "one of the greatest players in the history of the league."

That's two AFC West teams among those in pursuit of Manning, who was released Tuesday by the Indianapolis Colts after a season in which he did not play due to multiple neck surgeries.

Manning's arrival in Denver was covered more widely than a typical trip by a United States President. And virtually every move on Manning's current exploratory trip that now will include at least a visit with the Arizona Cardinals is being dissected breathlessly.

So Smith can't help but hear of it. And while he sounded almost insulted to be asked his thoughts on Manning's eventual new home, Smith could not help but tweak family patriarch Archie Manning, who famously refused to allow his son, Eli, to play for the Chargers in 2004.

"I do wish him the best in whatever the Manning family decides," said Smith, who drafted Eli Manning first overall and traded him to the New York Giants for Philip Rivers and other draft picks. "I don't know why you would ask me. And I don't know why anyone is asking Peyton. If you really want to know what's going on -- what trips he's making and where he's going to play -- call Archie."
