The hard part would be convincing him they could add other pieces. But getting him on the roster is really not that big an obstacle.
You are implying there is some new loophole or rule in place since the lockout when the salary cap was effected.

As an example, I know Dallas is supposed to be less than $5M under as of right now. Yet, with a couple of cuts (Newman, Buehler) and some restructures (Romo, Witten, Austin, etc) they could be as much as $30M under by Tuesday afternoon. Gotta imagine it's like that league wide.

Point being, if Arizona wants Peyton bad enough, they can make it happen.

    That's simply not true.

I'm not implying anything. I'm saying that "herp derp, Team X has no cap room, so they can't sign anybody" is a short-sighted and ill-informed argument.

Where did you hear this from?

The cap is definitely still important and is certainly not a joke. Look how many players the Raiders have cut simply because the Raiders mismanaged cap.

As far as the Cardinals go they'll save 14.5 million on just cutting Levi Brown alone so I think they can manage enough money to sign Peyton somehow.

I still think the Broncos are front runners though. You could argue them being a better team already and they have the cap money to go out and sign additional free agents.

LOL, OK, I guess the Rayman guy from VSD should probably draft the memo to Roger Goodell and the 32 NFL teams.

I was just making up a number since I don't know his cap figure for 2012. I'm assuming with his shiny new contract, it's a double digit.

Roger Goodell is pretty well aware of it, doesn't need my help.

It sounds like Denver is the favorite.

                  Yep.

Plus, Mort (take it with a grain of salt) says Manning won't make a decision until later in the week or next week. Doing that would sorta kill the Cards chances since Kolb is due that bonus soon.

Before that reports are stating that Texans are trying to meet with him while he's in Houston.....if anything, just to take time away from Titans.
