Is it time to just throw James Harrison out of the league?

Point is, I think Harrison tried to rock McCoy with a big shot and inadvertently caught him on the chin with his helmet. Is that worthy of removing a guy from the league, or a suspension, that's not up to be to decide.Comment

After watching the replay, my opinions.
1- Harrison has bad technique, he's going to hurt someone out there.
2- The play was flagable, since it was H2H. BUT...I wouldn't suspend him. Maybe a fine, but definitely not more than his past fine had been.
3- Harrison is a gladiator. He is a freight train on the field. He disrupts everything. Fines and flags, I would still want him on my team.
4- Colt should have thrown away the ball sooner, those extra 2 seconds didn't do anything for him.
Was Big Ben back in the game at that point? Or no?Comment

You break the rules and you sit, it's simple.Comment

If you can hit a lineman or running back like that and not get flagged questioning his technique is a bit retarded. The guys an NFL linebacker hes forgotten more about hitting and tackling than any of us will ever know.
Clearly illegal , clearly he should know better. Fines should be % not flat $$ values. A 15k fine wont hurt as much as a 15% of your yearly salary fine. He'll learn sooner or later.
Worst case scenario you kick him out of the league for unsportmanlike conduct and send him to the slaughterhouse.
Best reason to have a license.

It's really not hard to make a hit like this
Eric Berry huge hit! - YouTube
The difference is Berry gets low and makes the correct play. No coach probably ever told Harrison he was doing the right thing when aiming high. That's what all of these fines and flags were for, to teach Harrison to use the proper technique but he refuses to do so. That's where this argument is coming from, if Harrison is blatantly disregarding the safety of players then he shouldn't be playing. On that player with McCoy it would of been easy for him to just drive right through his body and make a great play, but instead he wanted to lay "the big hit" which was staying up high and even if he didn't mean it, when you stay up high like that you most likely are going to hit with the helmet.Comment

I'm glad SOMEONE here finally knows how to form tackle. Get nice and high, wrap up the arms, and shuffle in the direction of the sideline or another teammate. Really getting back to JV scout team basics.....Comment

Players know the risk of severe head injury when they play.
Regardless, that was a fine-able hit, but he should not be kicked out of the league as a result.Comment

I don't mean to kick start the drama in this thread again, but after thinking about it, I'm actually MORE in favor of Harrison.
Say what you want, but the Cribbs/Massaquoi hits were legal at the time. Since then, this was his first incident of helmet to helmet contact. And it's arguably unintentional.
ALL of his other fines (Vince Young, Drew Brees, Jason Campbell, Ryan Fitzpatrick) are pretty poor in my opinion, as the videos I posted would suggest earlier. Anyone who hasn't seen them, I encourage you to take a look at see for yourself - specifically Campbell and Fitzpatrick.
I never really cared for the guy. But I've given him the benefit of the doubt and actually took the time to look at his history. It's not as bad as people think or say.Comment

Read the first page, I already know the rest of the thread so I won't bother.
A ) Steeljake and most other Steelers fans defending the hit.
B ) Everyone else on planet Earth seeing it was ridiculous and dirty.
Fuck Pittsburgh and James Harrison.Comment
