Of course a dicated championship game winner shouldn't be treated the same as a plyoff winner. Hence, why everyone and their mother wants a playoff because they feel a playoff is a more legitimate way to determine the champion.

A playoff winner would be treated as much more legitimate than the current one game bowl winner...that's kind of the idea of everyone wanting a playoff to begin with.

If people thought of them the same and were going to treat them the same...there would be no outcry.
