Don't call this too far fetched...there are players who have gotten into the HOF based, primarily, on postseason successes. Two game winning TD drives in Super Bowls look pretty good on a QBs resume.
So if Gronkowski catches the hail mary, Eli isn't a hall of famer?
If Gronkowski catches the hail mary, then Eli Manning still has years left to add to his resume. Him not catching it though, may have already sealed the deal.

That's kinda my point.
I'm not rehashing all the points I made in the thread last week, but this line of thinking is outdated and lazy.
I don't think any differently of Eli (or Brady) than I did 6 hours ago.
Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Rodgers will all be in the National Football League Hall of Fame when it is all said and done.
When Eli won his first, I said he was one away. He has one of the most prolific seasons in NFL History to go with it. The man threw his team on his back twice to immortality. That's what greatness is made of.

I don't either.
I've thought he's a legitimate great quarterback and simply working on a resume to Canton...accomplishments like he has tonight are what put guys into Canton, not opinions without substance. For QBs, it is what just happened tonight. It is what separates the Ken Anderson's from the GOATs.

I'm not even really arguing that hard against the idea of Eli being a potential hall of famer.
It's the idea that throwing for 290 and one TD in a game today making it some sort of lock that I find ridiculous.
Again, if Gronkowski catches the hail mary, we aren't even discussing this. What sense does that make? Nothing about Eli's performance would have changed. I just find it silly.
