So Eli came up "big" by outplaying a QB who wasn't playing well and needed last dtch drives to do so.
And he's being elevated for that?

If Yates is elevated because of Brees doing something stupid then people are morons.

No, Yates would get elevated for NOT making the 4th QTR int, his offense scoring more than 14 points, and winning the SB. That would be pretty darn good for a QB nobody expected anything from. Wouldn't that be the reason he gets elevated? Wouldn't the 4th QTR int and only scoring 14 ish points be the reason Bress would take the hit?
