If I have MJD on my FF team...I am watching the Browns vs Jags on Tuesday nite.

3 nites a week is good. 1 Game thur, sunday games and 1 game Monday.....good formula IMO.

Thanks to nahste, a thread about an earlier start date for the season turned into a thread about what the NFL may do in the future with 18 games and games spread out over several days a week.

And thanks to others, they think nahste hates having this particular game a day earlier.

And others are....I don't know what the fuck.

Well I suppose it's a good thing understanding the basic concept of over saturation has nothing to do with sports.

Not even sure what you are saying here ... but let me clarify my stance.

I am opposed to more Thursday games (and by extension other weekday nights) because it spreads the slate too thin and leaves us with a barren Sunday afternoon schedule.

You know those Sundays where you are like "fuck, these 1 pm match ups are terrible, can't wait for the highlights at half ..."? Those are gonna happen a lot more, because there is a finite amount of quality teams and quality match ups every week. You move more of those into primetime, and you will dilute the magic that once was watching football on a Sunday.

It's not me hating the NFL at all. Like any red blooded American I enjoy the NFL greatly. I just do not greatly anticipate the days where Redskins-Rams is the best game on Sunday, because all the headlining teams are playing during oddball times.

Oh and unless you gamble or play fantasy, the Thursday and Monday night games were largely unwatchable this past season.

You want to keep your options open on Sundays...

For the time being, they will be. They're not advancing past a game on Thursday this year until Christmas with Saturdays as they always do.

just strictly speaking for the new york market (and not having direct tv) we are forced to miss out on good games all of the time cause giants and jets have to be shown. i cant count how many times i had to sit through some jets borefest missing out on another great afc matchup. if more primetime games mean i can actually watch them im all for it.

You changed your stance, and its still terrible.

With a Thursday night game, there would only be ONE less matchup on Sundays. Just one less matchup doesnt spread the slate too thin.

Miss me with that stupid shit niglet. We are talking sports so we are using it in that context.

I don't think this over saturated theory really works out. A thursday game is one more game you get to watch. If you think it's over saturated and you want all the games on sunday, then treat it like any old thursday and don't watch the game. For everyone else, it's one more game they actually get to watch.

It's like in 2004 when there were 4 football video games on the market. It would be like saying the football video game market is over saturated, there are too many games, we should only have 1. Well you don't have to buy all 4 of 'em...
