When it comes to retired crippled NFL players?

The bounties the players are ok with ARE the big hits, thats what all the discussion is about.
And there IS a care for the rules, they try to win the bounties within the rules.Comment

Juicy details finally starting to emerge.
I want to see the email from Ornstein that details the structure of the Saints bounty program.
Like I've been saying, this type of thing has gone on for decades. It's nothing new and nfl players are aware of if. The Saints just took it to another level because the coaches were involved. Again, just so w2b doesn't twist my words again, that doesn't make it right or ok.Comment

I think you guys who are nonchalantly disregarding this because it already existed are off base in terms of how far the Saints went with it.
I have serious doubts that you will find $10k bounties on players on every NFL locker room, with upwards of 25 players involved with the coaching staffs and outside convicted felons.
It's been going on for decades and it's always been wrong. Now the NFL is doing something about it save face. They never cared when it was black dudes in a locker room paying to kill each other. Throw some suits into the equation, more money, and lawsuits and now the wants to act like they care.Comment

It is interesting how these stories always seem to work. We always go from just the basic story and once the journalism gets deeper we find out about felons, hookers, drugs, etc. The stories just tend to get more and more corrupt. I can only imagine how pissed Goodell is, because most of what he always talks about is "protecting the shield" and this certainly doesn't do that.Comment

This is why the Saints are in really deep shit, and there is a good chance Payton and Loomis will be ousted. The NFL is going to lay the hammer like never before, because not only did the Saints run this disgusting operation, but they ignored the league three years ago when they tried to quietly nip it in the bud.
Payton, Loomis, and Williams are creeps.Comment

Still wish him luck in this years tourney!!!!!!!Comment

Thing is, the NFL was on to them three years ago, Benson told the coaches to knock it off, and the coaching staff ignored their owner and the league.

Do you think more blame should be placed on the coaches or the guys willing to take cash to actually injure other people? It's not like the coaches gave them an ultimatum, Williams, Peyton, Loomis, etc. are no different from the players that took part in it and have taken part of it in the past.Comment

What about Vilma and the players that take part in this all across the league?

Loomis knew, was told by the league and Tom Benson to end it, and didn't. Same for Payton. There is rumor that Benson might just fire everybody at this point and start over.
In a lot of cases, these players are immature guys in their 20's who aren't the world's brightest minds. That's not me letting them off the hook, but 50-year old leaders of men need to be help more accountable.Comment

LT pretty much saying exactly what I've been trying to say. I can't copy and paste it because I'm on my phone but here is the link:
I disagree with him that they shouldn't face stuff punishments. I think they should. The NFL has to. But it won't change anything in terms of player safety.Comment
