And if it happens, so what? Didn't hurt us with Edwards and I dont see why you would think Moss would kill this team. low risk no matter what happens. It's not like we traded Napoleon Harris and a 1st rd pick for himComment

The Braylon Edwards signing didn't hurt them? They were relying on him to be a starter and then ended up having to rely on Ted Ginn and then eventually Kyle Williams. If he gets cut mid-season for being trash then they'll have to rely on someone lower on the depth chart and I believe it can in fact hurt this team.Comment

He didn't make a single play on the field for us and we were still a few plays away from the super bowl. Morgan's injury was worse than Edwards not being there. You made it seem like Moss will kill team chemistry. Even if Moss catches 7 passes, he'll be better than anything Edwards did for us last year.Comment

I've read that they are planning on re-signing him if the price is right.
Well I didn't say anything about team chemistry but if they are relying on him to be a starter and be so good and he's not then you'll still have to put someone else into that role. At the very least they should sign another somewhat high quality free agent or use a draft pick/s at WR.
I love the deal. Low risk if it doesn't work out, high upside if it does. Moss shows up when he's in the position to contend and the 49ers were only a few mistakes and an unlucky bounce away from the superbowl last year. There's no good reason to expect less out of the unit. Harbaugh will actually have an entire offseason to work with the team, unlike last year because the lockout. The 49ers are no longer pressured into spending a 1st rounder on a WR so that means that O-Line depth can be addressed. Moss won't do shit in another 9 sack game.[REDACTED]Comment

Which goes back to what I said before. I don't think this signing changes anything we do in FA and the draft. We had a need at WR prior to Moss, and we still have that same need. If Morgan resigns, we are back to where we were a year ago outside of having Ginn. I'm sure our GM knows this and will take precautions.Comment

PC still hasnt gotten a roster update ; I had to manually edit my rosters to get him down to like 40 OVR and then release him to waivers. same with Greg Oden.Comment

49ers are also about to resign Carlos Rogers.
edit:signed. Don't really think he deserves his own thread, though.
Cornerback Carlos Rogers' dalliance on the free agent market didn't last long as he reportedly has agreed Tuesday night to return to the 49ers.
Yahoo Sports! reported that Rogers will earn roughly $7.3 million per year.
After playing his first six seasons with the Washington Redskins, Rogers joined the 49ers last season on a one-year, $4.2 million contract. He produced his first Pro Bowl season and shared the team lead with six interceptions during a 13-3 regular-season campaign.
Rogers also started every game at left cornerback for the 49ers and moved to the slot on passing downs.
He was the second cornerback the 49ers came to terms with Tuesday, as San Francisco reached a two-year deal earlier in the day with former Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox, who sat out last season in the wake of sexual assault charges.
Also, special teams ace Blake Costanzo won't be returning, having agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Bears, CSN Bay Area reported.
Earlier, former starting wide receiver Joshua Morgan signed with his hometown Washington Redskins.sigpicComment
