All I know is, Flynn better get all the money he can now...because once he's the actual starter and expected to perform every game....
...whew.
Flynn isn't gonna be a great starting quarterback, I agree, but he's got a high probability of being halfway decent.
I think he will be a completely average QB skill-wise, but he is "cagey" and won't make too many mistakes. He's basically a white David Garrard, but that is actually pretty valuable in a 32 league it seems. Even one season of competent QB play is worth all the money in the world to these franchises.

I think he will be a completely average QB, but he is cagey as hell and won't make too many mistakes. He's basically a white David Garrard, but that is actually pretty valuable in a 32 league it seems. Even one season of competent QB play is worth all the money in the world to these franchises.
Hell, at least Garrard had to prove it over the course of a season before he got his money...this is Rob Johnson all over again.
Matt Flynn started two entire games and he's done near everything you want to see. I'd easily put him ahead of Kevin Kolb in terms of actually evaluating his spot starts. When you get QB's like this it's always a chance but so is drafting a QB in the 1st round, at least with Flynn you have two pro starts to go off of, unlike the rookies who you have none. For every Rob Johnson there is a Matt Schaub in his place. I believe Matt Flynn will turn into a fine QB and I hope he lands in Seattle.
