Well, hopefully the punishment will discontinue bounties all together. I know I'll feel better knowing when I see a player carted off the field from an illegal hit or a legal hit that was beyond the bounds of good sportmanship, it was not the end result of a bounty. It was because the offending player was merely a demented fuck....

You have a certain level of respect for your fellow NFL player, and if you make a dirty play against someone, odds are there is going to be retribution.

The idiots in this thread make it seem as if every game is a bloodbath, and every player is trying to injure every other player on every single play. Have any of you played football before? Seriously.
Zoneblitz and Tailback honestly believe this to be the case. I thought they were doing shtick at first, but they legitimately believe this to be true, which is obviously mental.

And right there is the root of this entire debate. You have the lunatics with this warped idea of how the game is played, who are so disattached with reality and mentally unstable that the idea of bounty hunters does not repulse them (good, clean hits!), versus the reasonable minded non-lunatics who understand that NFL players are not actively trying to maim each other, and can understand the simple concept that a hit can be 'legal' while concurrently being cheap and/or dirty.

My world literature teacher supports it as well. She pretty much chalks it up to NFL football getting too soft.

Seems like the majority of football fans think NFL Football is a death match.

I'm glad the educational community has weighed in. See, it's not such a retarded stance after all

Its unbelievable how you still have no concept of what we are even saying. It's like you are a brain dead moron constantly repeating yourself and making stuff up about what I've said when I haven't said such a thing.

I said the same thing that a ton of NFL football players have said, it's a violent game and guys are out to hurt each other - not maim or injure - and that bounties are wrong and should not be allowed and should be punished.

I played football in college and me and everyone else on the defense wanted the guys on the other side of the ball to fear us. We wanted to make them quit. We wanted them to hate playing us because we were so physically dominant and good. When you play with that attitude, you don't really care about hurting someone. You're not trying to hurt them but you want to make sure that receiver thinks twice before catching a ball in your zone. They are casualties of the sport.

I remember a reporter asking Ray Lewis if he talked to Hines Ward after the game or if he was going to since Lewis knocked him out with a helmet to helmet hit. Lewis kind of laughed, like why would he do that? It's part of the game. Everyone knows this.

And LOL @ Anyone who thinks these players are civilized noble people.

These guys are fucking thugs, gangsters, juice heads, and wannabe gangsters. A whole lot of them would be in prison if they weren't in the NFL. And you think I'm more violent or aggressive then them? Get a clue.

Might be the dumbest generalization I've ever read on VSN. Congrats.
