So to avoid lawsuits from former players(which have already been filed and the accusations pretty much predate Goodell's time as commish) Goodell is going to open himself and the NFL to a new round of law suits directly targeted at him?

Not avoid the lawsuits already filed, but to make the shields case look better.

Yeah, nothing will "help the NFL's case look better" in proving they didn't lie to or mislead former players than by lying to and about current players and organizations!

          That Hargrove letter is amazing.

Vitt should be gone for good like Williams. Payton, too. And you can see why the commish tossed Williams out of the league.

Why do the Saints still employ some of these these men? Wtf.

I was actually amazed that the letter was even out there for the public seeing as KNUBB was demanding evidence as if none had been released.

Ironically enough, it's clear he didn't even read this evidence, so I don't hold out much hope for him reading the other 50,000 pages the NFL has if that's ever released either.

              BRB, not reading Hargrove letter.

BRB, claiming the word "bounty" never in Hargrove letter despite it being in there more time than I could count.

              BRB, being called on ignorance.

              BRB, not responding.

              BRB, going to work.

To be fair, that goofball Mike Florio over at PFT posted and article yesterday and reported that "bounty" was never used in the letter.

But even if the word "bounty" hadn't been used, it wouldnt have meant much.

Hargrove is trying to save his own ass, here. He doesn't play for the Saints anymore, so he's throwing his ex-bosses under the bus. And whether they told him to lie or not, he is effectively admitting there was a bounty program either way. As many have pointed out, the players are challenging the commish's power here, they are not challenging the evidence. At least in Hargrove's case. He's positioning himself as a victim of his bosses who was forced to lie.

And make no mistake, it's the lies that did the Saints in. The cover up is always worse than the crime. This assertion that the league is framing the Saints is even more ridiculous when you consider that the league would have COVERED IT UP had the Saints cooperated to begin with! The Saints are the reason the story even exists at this point. Goodell didn't want this mess out in the first place, for pretty obvious reasons.

KNUBB's story is so far out in left field, but if you glance at some of the comments in the comments sections of these stories, these crazy conspiracies and denials are what the Saints fans seem to be running with. They are either the most loyal homers in sports, or the most naive, stupid m'fers on the planet.

Knubb is reaching... like my head has exploded reading him in this thread. Not sure if he is doing this on purpose or he really is an Ostrich!

The shield wouldn't tamper with any of the evidence to make it fit their case

When it comes to the question of whether the NFL should release all evidence related to the Saints alleged bounty program, the evidence in favor of putting all cards on the table continues to grow.

Sounds really credible like this "source" would have no incentive to lie himself.

“[A]ccording to a source close to [former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg] Williams

                                Oh wait.
