    But the other side of the argument is with 123 coaches and private polls it is a lot easier for coaches to hide their biased votes among the masses. That's not possible with a smaller committee.

        Maybe I'm giving this site too much credit but I'm pretty sure you could get 10 guys from VSD together and pick the top 4 teams and have it be pretty well agreed upon. I'm not really worried about this committee doing a competent job.

          Not true. VSN would be split on whether Alabama should make the final 4, with half saying "they didnt even win their conference or division!"

                That's a different question entirely. It's pretty widely accepted that Alabama was one of the best four teams in the country. However, whether they earned a spot in a playoff despite not winning their division is another problem.
