Exhibit C - ESPN inks 10 year contract with SEC before 2011 season. Three months later, the night before the final BCS rankings are unveiled, rankings which will determine the pair of teams that will play in a made-for-TV championship game on ESPN, the network buries #2 Oklahoma State's game, downgrading it from national to regional coverage, while also allowing Nick Saban 20 minutes of air time on its marque CFB morning program so that he can stump for #3 Alabama.

There are countless other examples, but yeah, ESPN covers ESPN now. It doesn't cover sports. It's corporate synergy, aimed at the lowest common denominator who they bank on being too stupid to notice or too apathetic to care.

Don't forget either that they now have the SEC Stories Series or whatever running on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU as well.

I've been wtaching nothing the NBCSports Network for the last 2-3 days and I'm hooked.

The SEC stories series is terrible. Of the three I've seen, the only entertaining portion was the 5 minutes of Herschel Walker high school footage that they showed. The interviews are terrible, the shows themselves have no point, the premise of the shows are retarded (the SEC Championship game changed college football forever!!!!). It could be so much better.

Yeah, I watched this one because I'm a junkie for early 90's shit and the entire premise seemed odd. I think at one point they claimed that had Alabama not gotten that pick 6 that Conference Championship games would have died on the vine and we wouldn't have had them anymore.

I need to start watching NBC sports......is Beadle up there? This morning I was hoping to watch some stuff, but they had some tummy tuck infomertials until 7am for their morning show. However, I leave the house before 7am, so that won't do me any good. Now the big story is Sanchez telling reporters that "this is my huddle and if you don't like it get out" LOL, let's see what you do when you have your actual teammates in the huddle. Sanchez trying to force this leadership thing and that isn't a natural position for him.

My thing with ESPN is why are they making the Jets such a huge story this year? I understand the Tebow thing, but come on. They air Jets stuff on all of their TV shows and then all of their radio shows talk the Jets...........it's just annoying. I like Tim Tebow, but I can't wait for the day when he retires. The Giants just won the SB and we hear nothing about them....

They tried to make it sound so idealistic...like the SEC wouldn't have survived without the title game, and the motivation for having a title game was for the betterment of college football in general. It was a money-grab, nothing more. And they interviewed the SEC administrator guy who "invented" the SEC title game as if he had cured polio. Really?? He was the first guy to ever envision a fucking conference championship game?? "How did you come up with the idea for a conference championship game?" Gimme a break!

Absolutely terrible.

The early evening show I was watching yesterday had her on talking about an interview she did with Hope Solo and the book she just had come out.

Really interesting little sidebar. And really interesting stuff on Solo. ESPN wants a dynamic story..Solo is it. Terrible home life as a child(kidnapped by her biological father at one point, alcoholic mother IIRC) and she got through it. But no..we need more Tebow stories.

NBCSports morning highlight show comes on at 7am CST so yeah you just miss it.
