Lolno.. Alabama's backups giving up a second half touchdown and 200 second half yards does not mean ND played better defense..

ND allowed 19 first downs playing their starters the whole game
Alabama allowed 11, with many coming against the backups
Alabama allowed 30 less total yards, 100 less rushing yards
Michigan was 8-15 on 3rd down against ND, 3-12 against Alabama

Get out of here with that bullshit

Now remember Alabama was up 31-7 at half and rested their starters. Also remember Michigan finished that game with 269 total yards, and rushed for 100 fewer yards than they did vs Notre Dame.

      This is fun.
They weren't resting their starters in the third quarter when they gave up the second TD. Derp.

Are you just naming random stats that Alabama won? I can do that too if you want.

              Good job, good effort.

Alabama has played WKU, Arkansas, Florida Atl, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Tennessee, Miss State, Michigan.... and LSU giving up 9.1 PPG.

ND has played Navy, Purdue, MSU, Michigan, Miami, Stanford, BYU, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh giving up 11.7 PPG.

ND has a better scoring defense.

And ND's secondary depth is pretty decent/athletic. You'd basically be seeing a lot of DB Elijah Shumate and ND loves Danny Spond(a hyper athletic LB'er) in those situations as well.
TAMU had Florida dead to rights at home, and blew it late.

Like NAHSTE said, the only major flaw with TAMU has been closing out games. They've stunk in the fourth quarter.

                  Okay.

And while ND is struggling to score 13 points off of 6 turnovers against Michigan, I'll be enjoying Alabama win another national title

If you think NDs offense is the same as it was against Michigan you're ignant.

Keep warming up for the NC game with Western Carolina and Towson and see how easy that title will be.

More like "keep warming up with the rest of college football's supposed power conferences" ...

Alabama used Michigan as a tune up this season. For Notre Dame a few weeks later, that game was a bloodbath.

LSU used Washington as as tune up this season. For Stanford a few weeks later, that game was a bloodbath.

Gee, I wonder why people think the SEC is better... It's almost like all of these empirical data points point to their overwhelming superiority ...

And that's not even factoring in the bowl games we see every year.

You aren't seriously thinking that Notre Dame's performance at home in a one possession game was more impressive than Alabama's performance at a neutral site in a blowout... right?

Again, Notre Dame has beat everyone in front of them, but unless they want to celebrate it with an undefeated birth in the Sugar Bowl instead of the Championship game, they have to start beating teams consistently with style points. Barely winning against Pitt (a team they should have lost to, in fact) will not help them pass by anyone in the top 4.

Polls are subjective and prone to human bias. Every time we see an SEC team clownstomp a foe from another "power" conference, which happens literally every season with great regularity, confirmation bias sets in with the voters.

Why should Clemson get the same amount of respect as South Carolina from the pollsters, when we can pretty easily (albeit, still subjectively) determine South Carolina is playing better opponents and has a better team? Clemson has played literally one good team, which was six weeks ago, and they lost that game. Then there's the whole confirmation bias and subjectivity factor that takes place when humans are assessing the overall quality of a program. The last time we saw Clemson going into this season, they lost 70-33. And they haven't beaten South Carolina since 2009. Pretty easy to tell why they don't enjoy as much respect from the pollsters as the Cocks do.

What do you want? Polls are subjective, and subjectively speaking, the SEC is better.

Objectively speaking, of course, the SEC is still better, as they prove any time their better programs take on the better programs from other conferences. This happens year after year after year, so the pollsters will naturally factor that in.
