I don't think so either, but Eagles fans should still want him and not cast him off as "yesterday's news". I do agree that Carolina has always seemed like a better fit for him (doesn't he have a house there/something the media has talked about?).

Either way, I would love to see him in Carolina personally over in Philly (despite how awesome it would be to hear all of my friends that hate his guts fall in love with him). Eagles fans are too exhausting at this point, even when I agree with them (sorry Shag!).

Cowher would be a perfect fit in Carolina. Two great runningbacks, a Ben-like QB, and I'm guessing Cowher could switch to a 4-3 from a 3-4 like Mike Tomlin switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3 when he joined the Steelers.

Cowher would be a great coach for Cam Newton.

I don't think Newton is a one-season wonder. He's admittedly having a rough season, but it's no reason to write off his career.

Cowher would take the pressure off Newton to save this franchise, that pressure would immediately shift to Cowher.

Exactlly I think Cowher would strive there and be a great fit... I think that Philly will either go with a cheaper asst coach or make that Gruden type splash, MAYBE a college coach but they want results immediately or heads will roll.

With the talent the Eagles have, they have to go for instant success. I agree at the end of the day going the free agent mercenary route was a bad move, but it's done now. Make that personnel work.

Some guys have to go... and it all depends on the new coach's philosophy really. There is no way they can keep all of these overpaid players that aren't producing, like they got their pay day and quit on one of the best coaches in the past 20 years but will produce for their new coach who most likely will not be even 1/2 the pedigree that Reid was? The players should be ashamed, mfers looking like the Dallas Cowboys all hyped and not playing to the potential that they should be.

IMO, both Rodgers-Cromartie and Asomaugha are killed by safeties who shouldn't be starters on the KC Chiefs.
And the Eagles are still using that 9-wide D that absolutely sucks.
              And the O-Line ... Jesus.

As far as the rumors, rumors will be rumors. But Bill Cowher was a guy that rarely fucked up with time management and knew a good thing when he had it (McCoy is being absolutely wasted). Reid is a bit bullheaded and needs to have his way.

I am shocked that there is an Eagles fan alive that WOULDN'T want Cowher (the game hasn't changed that much).
cowher and reid had similar track recordnuntil cowher got Big Ben. but for 12 seasons b4 that he was reid. winning coach but couldn%t win the big 1

STFU dave. The Steelers ran a 3-4 before and during Mike Tomlin. Go away. You fucking suck. Steelers haven't run a 4-3 in over 20 years.

Vick is gone after this season. Clay Harbor and Brent Celek are nothing special. Desean Jackson is so overpaid it's stupid. Babin has been released...

The only players they have to "build" around are Trent Cole, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Lesean McCoy. Whoever takes over in philly is gonna have a complete rebuilding project.

I'd add Fletcher Cox, Demeco Ryans, and Mychal Kendricks to that list....but yeah that's pretty much it haha.
