Romeo Crennel & Scott Pioli To Be Fired

    Rotoworld

A "more than reliable source" tells 610 Houston's Nick Wright that Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli have both been informed they will be fired at season's end.

Although he's now based in Houston, Wright is a former Kansas City radio host with a history of breaking Chiefs news. Similar to the situation in San Diego, we're unlikely to get official word on Crennel and Pioli's fate until after Week 17, but there's zero reason to believe either will be retained. Pioli has undermined an otherwise promising roster by failing disastrously in his quest to find a quarterback, while Crennel has proven every bit as overmatched as he was in Cleveland. Retaining Crennel after he guided the Chiefs to a 2-1 finish as interim coach in 2011 could end up as a job-killing decision for Pioli. His reported bizarre behind-the-scenes behavior surely did him no favors with owner Clark Hunt, who will be undergoing his second GM search in five years. For what it's worth, Wright's report has been shot down in several quarters, but that's to be expected.

That team definitely needs new leadership. It's sad because that's such a great fanbase.

Saban would be crazy to leave Alabama.

Yeah, I agree with that, because I wouldn't hire him after Miami and also the recent college to NFL coaching experience anyway. If Saban isn't content with being in the National Championship hunt every year, just go find another program to rebuild. He's not an NFL coach.

I thought the writing would be on the wall for Pioli, but Crennel, I would have given another season. It's not his fault that the GM didn't get him the QB this team needed to succeed this season.

Did Pioli draft moeaki , carr , berry and the RB ? Two years ago it seemed the Chiefs had a great influx of talent. Was Piolo just loyal to the wrong guy or was he just making bad choices over there ?
Best reason to have a license.

Saban would've had the Dolphins turned around but he just up and left!

They committed to Matt Cassel. Thats why they are getting fired.

Why are you groaning me for saying Saban would be crazy to leave Alabama, W2BTD?

                          Just curious.

Are you sure Crennel can't be a successful coach in the right situation?
