I guess I must be mistaken. I guess the QB that I watched for 4 years at my alma mater was a different guy. I guess the guy who broke all kinds of NCAA and SEC passing records was a different number 15. Those 5 star receivers got quite a workout from 2 yards behind the line to run for almost 10,000 YAC.
Yes, he has almost 10,000 NCAA career passing yards. 10 yards per pass attempt. 67% completion.
I guess my definition of "rushing touchdowns" and "passing touchdowns" are skewed too. Or not. Since he had 57 of each.
This is all aside the point of I agree that he is not built for an NFL QB. He should switch positions to ensure his future. Pretending he wasn't an amazing college QB simply makes you look stupid.
Read it. Look at the statistics. This isn't made up.
The guy won a Heisman as a sophomore, won 2 SEC champs and won 2 national championships. He went 13-1 twice.
And you're right, I know hardly anything about the CFL. I couldn't name you a single player or more than 2 teams. I guarantee you if Tebow went there, I would watch.

Good stuff.
Or you can just continue to ignore other shit bum passers did well in the NCAA and it didn't inherently make then "great throwers". It made them guys who were good football players within the system they ran.

Clearly relevant to the ability to throw the football.

If anyone is familiar with big name QBs from their favorite program flopping once they get to the pros its going to be a Notre Dame fan.Comment

Also, if we're being completely accurate, ND fans don't need to wait until their big name QBs hit the pros to see them flop.

Or, college football and professional football are completely different sports, and it's possible to have unprecedented success in one while also having unprecedented failure in the other. As far as I'm concerned, Tebow's not even the best college QB from the state of Florida to play professional sports in New York.
I just don't understand the level of Tebow hate. The guy was a great player. Arguably one of the best to ever play. Are all of you CFB fans just that jealous that he didn't play for you?
He was a little more than a "shit bum passer".Comment

Great college player, awful NFL QB, and the two are not mutually exclusive.Comment

I find it rather interesting that Tim Tebow is acknowledged, by everyone, as a non-starting caliber QB.
For his career Tebow has a QB rating of 75 over 14 career starts with a 17/9 TD/INT ratio, 2400 yards and 6.7 YPA. Additionally he has 989 rushing and 12 TD. That gives Tebow a combined 3400 yards (rounded) and 29 TD.
Here are 7 other "franchise" QB's with comparable/worse statistics last season.
Brandon Weeden, 72 rating, 14/17 TD/INT, 6.5, 3400.
Tannehill, 76, 12/13, 6.8, 3100.
Cutler, 81, 19/14, 7.0, 3000.
Sanchez, 66, 13/18, 6.4 2900.
Bradford, 82. 21/13, 6.7 3700.
Ponder, 81, 18/12, 6.1, 2900 (+253 rushing)
Even the prodigy, Andrew Luck, isn't substantially better with QB rating of 76, 23/18 ratio, 7.0 YPA and threw for 4300. He chipped in 255 rushing with 5 TD. That gives Luck 4500 and 28 TD.He has an extra 1000 yards over about 250 passing attempts (about 130 fewer rushing).
Then you have Vick, Locker, Cassel, Quinn who were all "starters" at one point or another last year.
I'm not saying Tebow is a good QB, but he produced just as well during his opportunity as a lot of other guys. However, I do not think that there are 30 QBs who are better than him.Comment
