He's a polarizing prospect. He's the kind of guy that can set your franchise up for greatness or get your GM fired in 3 years. Honestly, I wouldn't touch him in this draft class as I feel there are 3 other 1st round talents that won't make a coach and GM afraid to read the newspaper every morning.Comment

I don't care how tall he is, he's still got a tiny frame. I know he has big hands so he'll be able to throw the ball fine, but I simply don't trust him as a decision maker.
Mike Evans bailed him out a ton this season, and those miracle plays which make him such a special player in college will be fewer and far between in the NFL.

I really think he'll be a boom or bust...no in between. Whoever picks him will either be praised or ridiculed in 2017.Comment

stirring the pot...haha.
HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) - The Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) official twitter account has added a new quarterback to their 864 following list. That person is Johnny Manziel (@JManziel2).
The Houston Texans, who have the first pick in the NFL draft, decided that they would start following the Texas A&M Quarterback sometime in the last few days. Even though Johnny ‘Football’ put himself on a twitter silence until the NFL Draft on May 8th.
Having the first overall pick in the draft means a lot to a franchise and the franchise would want to make sure the person they hang their hat on is both physically and mentally capable of doing the job. Twitter is a great way to gauge a person, in a 140 characters. The interesting thing in this story is two fold:
Manziel’s twitter account is not private. The Texans could view any of the tweets the future NFLer puts on the internet.
The Texans have not followed any of the other top prospects linked to them with the number one pick.
Teddy Bridgewater, the Louisville quarterback projected in early mock drafts as the top pick, doesn’t have an official twitter account, so obviously they can’t follow him. But Blake Bortles, the Central Florida QB who ran up the draft boards this season and Jadeveon Clowney both have official (with a check mark) twitter accounts with no follow from the team with the number one pick.
Does this mean that the Texans have narrowed their search before even the NFL Draft Combine later this month and the players pro-days? We don’t know.
The Texans told SportsRadio 610 that it is nothing to read into. The team follows a lot of people, including draft prospects from a few years ago.
If you want to read into it as some sort of unofficial announcement of their draft intentions, then you should expect to see hip hop artist Drake performing at halftime sometime in 2014; the team just added him to their “following” list as well.
There is a connection there as Drake and Manziel have been seen hanging out on New Year’s Day just over a month ago.Last edited by ryne candy; 02-12-2014, 07:37 PM.Comment

Everyone is having a slow news period right now. Most publications have sent a good portion of their staff to cover the Olympics, we aren't close to the NFL FA period, MLB coverage has yet to begin in earnest and the NHL has sent players to the Olympcs, so the NBA and college basketball is all that is going on right now as far as professional sports. That is why someone even wasted the time "reporting" that story.Comment

There is no chance Houston takes Manziel #1 overall. Their new, New England coaches will have no part of Johnny Football. They want a robot who will be who they want him to be. Manziel simply isn't that guy. IMO, they're spreading this rumour to get Cleveland as a willing trade partner. Cleveland flips up from 4 to 1, gets their exciting future, Houston takes a safer pick at 4 and gets extra picks. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if Houston just drafted Clowney and hoped for a QB to drop to the 2nd round. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000
