NFL to eliminate extra point?

Instead of an XP kick, make every XP the 2-point try. That might be interesting. That said, I agree the current XP is boring and needs to be changed.

Most teams don't carry three quarterbacks, so the third string quarterback is usually the kicker or punter anyways.

I hate them. I don't watch them because they are so redundant. So even if something exciting happens like a shank or block, well I just missed a crucial play. I watch at least 6 hours of NFL on Sunday so I play the percentages when it comes to taking breaks. Usually a touchdown is a great chance to go for a piss or get a cup of tea because it goes, XP - Advert - Touchback most of the time.

That's another thing, thanks to the NFL rule changes the kickoff is now far too often the second most boring play in football.

well 61% of people don't like the idea. The NFL is just throwing the idea out there as of yet to see how its perceived.

I still want the league to keep its roots and call it football...or only keeping a 3 pointer/field goal makes the kicker the ulyimate relief pitcher who may only get one kick in a game.

jazz it up...if you score a 3rd TD you have to go for 2 every time you score after that. That way the kicker got a couple warm up shots in
