Here is where we learn if NFL teams are willing to accept a gay player as the guy is definitely a draft worthy prospect with no real reason to slip out of the draft otherwise.

Actually it's not gutsy at all. It'd be gutsy if he was a UDFA type player who likely wouldn't have made an NFL roster in the first place. This is an All American who 100% certainly would be drafted under normal circumstances and can now point to homophobia and bigotry as being the sole reason should he go undrafted.

Well of course it's gutsy. He's doing something no one has ever done before. There have been plenty of gay NFL players before I assure you of that. There have been a very small amount that has come out after their career but never openly gay while being in the NFL. Who knows how he'll integrate into the locker room because like I said a lot of guys probably have the Jonathan Vilma view on things.

In today's America where Gay rights are a hot topic it is meant to possibly pay off very well in endorsements and the like. Also why should he hide it if he is going to be spending a lot of time with the guys on his future NFL team. It would come out either way if he is that up front about it. He decided to let it out on his own terms

Props to the guy. It may hurt his draft stock (considered a top 10 DE this year), but hopefully he can have a successful career to put all this BS behind us.
