They drafted Mallett in the third round a few years ago, I can't think they have much ground to ask for anything more than a fifth round pick, if that. The price for Mallett will be of no concern.

I definitely smell a smokescreen at least for the Clowney portion. I do think Houston has legit interest in Mallett though.

If all they were asking for was a 5th rd pick, the Texans would do it in a heartbeat. A 5th rd pick isn't 100% guarantee to make a roster and if Bob like Mallet, he would guarantee the Texans he could make the team. I'm guessing they were asking for more from the Texans.
