hate rod turner, he's still there too

It makes no sense to say Kyle McGrossman since Orton at no time ever played similar to Rex "Chicks Dig the Longball" Grossman. He's not gonna all of a sudden start chucking it downfield into double coverage. Jay Cutler might though.

There's a reason Chicago never had a good QB and it's not just cause of bad drafts and signings.

Plus Orton wasn't even playing that bad in Chicago pre-injury last year.

LMAO, no he won't we have an amazing head coach that knows how to get the best out of his QB's.

McD is on top of his game and Orton is showing he has more skills then just being a "game manager."

Have fun with Cutler, the meltdown will start this Sunday night in Hotlanta baby!

Is anyone surprised that you surround Orton with talent on offense and a great D and he wins? He went 11-5 as a rookie using the same formula.

Bottom line is Cutler is a better QB than Orton and Orton has just found himself in a great position all of a sudden with Marshall, Royal, and a REAL surprising Denver D.

Cutler has been playing great in Chicago. Hell, even after the disaster that was his first half vs Green Bay he still took the team down the field in the 4th and gave them the lead before the defense coughed it up. Both are playing well and both teams are happy.

This the same FirstTimer that argued until he was blue in the face that Grossman > Orton?

          I think it is.

              Royal 18-148 0 TD's
              Hester 14-189 2 TD's
              Knox 14-190 2 TD's
              Bennett 15-200 0 TD's

And Da Bears have played one less game..

But I would wait and see what Orton and Cutler do the rest of the way to Quote that much shit lol.

Statistically it was true. The Bears offense produced better under Grossman in 05 better than it did under Orton. So yes Grossman>>Orton in 05 and 06.

Orton never really showed he could be a starting QB in the NFL until last season or late in the 2007 season IMO. It was really the first year he was anything more than a game manager.

It should have been two 1st rounders and Cutler for Orton.

Lol at this post contradicting itself. You want to wait and see what Orton and Cutler do, but use what's happened so far in the season to make a judgment on Royal vs. the Bears WRs.

Why does it always have to be one or the other?

Can't it just be a good trade?

The Bears needed a playmaker at QB to make up for less than stellar WR. They got that.

The Broncos wanted Cassell, but couldn't do it, so they grabbed a guy that good manage the game well and has success in that type of system. They got that.

It always has to be THIS GUY > THIS GUY. People hate when trades work out for both sides, who cares... it was a good trade and each side has benefited.

To compare Cutler and Orton is just plain moronic.

Are you telling me Denver wouldn't want Cutler back? If the answer is no, there is no point in discussing any further. I wouldn't argue with you for the same reason I don't argue with my 4 year old Daughters.

Same for Chicago fans...Do I want Orton back....No. If, you would like to argue, see above.

I also am a big fan of Orton, I thought he always a very good QB. I glad he is succeeding. He is just not as good as Cutler, that is not a bad thing, it just is what it is.

Again, it worked for what both teams wanted to accomplish.

Meatheads need to have a 1 v 1, good vs. bad, who is better, etc. It can't just be a zero-sum trade.

                              Excellent post.

I'm glad to see Orton succeeding in Denver as he is in a perfect situation for him. Great defense, good WR's and strong running game and Cutler is exactly what the Bears needed at QB to make up for a lack of good WR's. Both teams won on this deal.

If it's too early in the season to quote all that and bump this thread, it's too early to make a judgment on Royal vs the Bears Wrs based on the stats they've put up so far.

I agree with you though on the trade being good so far for both teams, it's good to see not all bears fans were shitting on Orton for no reason.
