The Texans HAVE to draft Manziel... they passed on the hometown hero last time, Vince Young, but they can't pass the local guy up this time around. The fanbase would give him so much leeway especially after the horrific season they have at quarterback last year. You could run that team on fumes for the next 4 years and the locals would stand by the guy.

I agree in a sense, but the Texans have to trade down. This is a deep draft, no doubting that, but the list of guys at the top all have questions. The QBs have plenty, and Clowney is loaded with equal parts talent and question. If they can swing a good deal for that pick, that's the move they have to make.
Citing "word on the street," ESPN's Ed Werder reported on SportsCenter Wednesday that the Texans are asking the Falcons for a Robert Griffin III-like trade haul to get from No. 6 overall to No. 1.
I hope the Falcons don't screw themselves and do a dumb deal like that.

For a QB it is worth it. For any other position I don't think it is. People like to say the deal was for three first rounders, when the third one was essentially swapping the pick. Two firsts and a second for a potential franchise QB is worth it, especially for a team like Washington who hadn't had a franchise QB in over two decades.

Atlanta is so desperate for a legit pass rusher at this point I think they value Clowney like a quarterback.
They've been looking for this dude for years. I hope they get him too.
I don't want to see him in Houston because eventually He or JJ Watt will break Andrew Luck's Legs, and it would be nice to have him in Atlanta where I can see him play in person.

No chance Texans draft him. The new Patriots regime of O'Brien, Crennel, etc... would never do it.
Frankly, if any team should do it, it should be Jacksonville. Time to tear down the damn tarps and sell out the stadium. I'm not entirely convinced Johnny Football will be a hall of fame NFL quarterback, but if any team should take the risk, it's Jacksonville.
So over the final 8 games of the Chiefs season they went 2-6 including 2 losses each to the Broncos, Chargers, and Colts. They're 2 wins were against the shitty Redskins and Raiders. A sign of things to come in 2014?
