Was Pryor's alleged injury ever corroborated? I heard rumors of it after the bowl game, but never saw anything substantial. I thought the injury talk was just an excuse for Pryor playing so poorly.

Its not like Tressel went to Northwestern and got them into the Rose Bowl. He went to fricking Ohio State...I don't think Charlie Weis would have trouble 'finding talent' at Ohio State. John Cooper brought in arguably more talented players than Tressel.

Then you take it to the later games in the season and the kid was getting good velocity, tight spirals, and hitting the marks. They kept the play book limited, two reasons. Tressel doesn't like to show all his cards in the season, and two, Pryor was a young QB that Tressel didn't want failing early and losing confidence in his game.

You take that kind of coach, with his staff that he's brought into OSU and Pryor will get the development he needs. Troy Smith was a Tressel recruit, first season under center 16 pass TD's, 11 Rush TD's, Senior year, second year under center 30 pass TD's, 1 Rush TD.

Tressel knows what he's doing with Pryor, Smith put up a 161.0 rating at QB his senior year. Pryor, a 146.5 rating, his freshman year. Give him time.
I'm just guessing here, but is Youngstown State iiiinnn......

      Youngstown?

Tressel refused to comment on it (Probably because he didn't want to sound like he was making excuses) but everywhere I've seen has maintained he suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Cooper's efforts are an integral part of Buckeye recruiting today... it was his work in Florida that has us as a constant prescence there now, and JT mendedthe ties Cooper broke with Ohio coaches. Tressel's first recruiting class might be his best ever... and he followed that up with the worst class in Ohio State history (2003), two average ones in 2004 and 2005 (Although '05 did produce some sleepers like Jenkins and Laurinaitis), and then two more average ones in 2006 and 2007.

His 2008 and 2009 classes are the ones that will take tOSU back to the elite.

Note about Troy Smith: Troy didn't start taking game film seriously until bowl practice of his junior year... Pryor's first day on campus he spent 14 straight hours with Boeckman in the film room.

I wish he wound up at Michigan, not because I like them (I really don't like any Big 10 team).. but because I think Rich Rod's offense was custom made for a talent like Pryor.
