A number 1 overall qb sets a franchise back even further (yes i know that seems hard in the Lions case) . If youre not sure on a qb you dont take him just because hes the best player at that position (If he fails) . At least if your LT fails you can move him to RT where its less important and he can do a job. Most average or below LTs get moved to RT these days anyways.
Tackle is the safe pick but in honesty , this is a horrible year to own the number 1 pick in the draft.
Falcons got lucky with Ryan , there isint gonna be many Matt Ryans out there in drafts so going by the Falcons theory is worthless imo.
How much further back could the Lions go? I'm going to go out on a limb, and say that they're basically up against the wall and at this point, no draft pick is going to set them back.
