3/4 goals vs Philly tonight were as hilariously bad as the Stanley Cup clincher last year.

Fucking terrible.


Although Philly just spending big on a goalie likely isn't an answer either, cause it's not translating into championships. Journeymen vets and young players out to prove themselves seem to be the best bet. Probably would help Philly to pick one guy and stick with it.

Last year they played what, 3-4 goalies? Same as this year. I mean fuck, how do you expect results when these guys know their getting benched if they don't win every night? Stupid.

Agree with Flyers goalie situation. It is fine to run two goalies throughout most of the year. Look at Washington, they seem to do it every year, and Boston does as well. Then comes a time when you pick a starter and that is it, and stop changing shit up. Nurvirth won it in Washington because of injury but he played great, and Thomas won the starting job easily. To me, there was no reason not to play Bob's and give the kid some playoff experience.

Like way to say to the kid "oh we trust you to win regular season games, but we want you in the press box come playoff time."


The thing with Winnipeg is more the corporate side of things and that they really don't have much out there. Plus Winnipeg is kind of a loner city in the middle of Canada. They don't have a lot of big cities to feed the team. If Quebec had the arena done I would think the team would go there. They have the richest man in Canada, but he doesn't buy all the tickets. Hopefully it works, and then will begin the clusterfuck of retooling all the divisions.

I can't remember seeing so many big (2, 3, 4 goal) comebacks in the playoffs.

Anybody know what the record is for number of OT games in the playoffs?

Carter actually would of been a leaf 2 years ago along with phillys first round pick and something else for kaberle if kaberle would of waived his NTC.

Boston had a deal in place in 07 that would of sent Savard and their first rounder to toronto for kaberle as well which was of course denied by his NTC.

For philly they ended up getting Pronger a year later so it was pretty much a moot point.

NTCs have killed toronto bad over the years. I remember there was a deal in place that would of sent Sundin to a playoff team in his final year of his contract but he didn't waive his NTC and signed with the canucks the next year and the leafs got nothing.

The John Ferguson Jr. Era killed the leafs bad lol. The only good thing to come out of it was the guy made some good draft picks.

Horrible showing by the Penguins today. Looked good early but couldn't get one past Roloson. Fleury was awful and Johnson just went through the motions when he came in.

Fun fact: Dan Blysma is now 0-5 in series-clinching games at home. That's crazy in my mind.

Not too worried going into Game 6 though.

Winnipeg would be shitty place to move a team. Here in Canada we are desperate for another team. But Winnipeg? We will take it but its not the most ideal place. They had the lowest attendance when they were in the leauge and will be in the bottom once again when they move back.

I don't think Toronto/Quebec would be good places to go ethier. Sure those are the two of the biggest cities in Canada. But there is no way in hell they would be able to compete with the Maple Leafs/Montreal.

I really want a team in London. It's not nearly as big as Toronto, Quebec, Hamilton, Winnipeg, but it has a shit ton of large areas around it. The Waterloo area and ALL of South Ontario. I guarentee it could support a NHL team.
