The teal men and the orange guys are pretty dumb imo. Don't steal others idea's make up your own.
In other news most were estimating that there might of been over 5000 canuck fans there last night. Was pretty funny because when the canucks scored the cheer was pretty loud.
Are you Canadians even aware that the guys in Vancouver stole the whole green man thing from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia?
People have been wearing Green Man costumes in America for about 5 years now. A youtube search of "green man" will pop up hundreds of videos of people running around in green man costumes.
And you had to laugh at some of their signs, "MAXIM FLOPPIERE" and "YOUR TEAM HATES YOU RIGHT NOW."
I thought the officiating was fine last night. They called things the same way they've been called all year.
Which ones weren't penalties to you? Also, I'm not one that believes in "letting them play". You don't change the rules in the playoffs, so penalties are penalties.
I didn't agree with the McGinn major but the bloody face of Rome kind of forced the call so I kind of get it I guess.
Burrows goalie interference was weak, but if they called that high stick on Nashville vs Luongo how can you not call that? Or Holmstrom's poke on Niemi? They are consistent with calling anything vs goalies from what I've watched.
People have been bitching about the Bieksa call late in the 3rd period, it was a soft call, however is anyone taking into the count that the play has to be considered a high scoring chance? The net was empty and he put his stick in the mid section of the player, they've called that sort of stuff all year. If you do something that's by definition a penalty during a scoring chance, you go to the box.
Thinking of other calls, Mitchell was clearly high sticked for blood, so that call was legit. Desjardens clearly held Sedin's stick and his trip out of the box were both penalties that I can't see an argument against.
Thornton was also caught holding the stick and deserved two.
Kesler definitely tripped Heatley on that late break in the game, definite penalty.
Rome did cross check Wellwood in the back into the boards, don't see how you let that go.
Lapierre went high with his elbows up to White's head early in the 1st, that's for sure roughing.
Pavelski definitely ran interference on that Sharks PP in the 2nd, stuck out his leg.
There was alot of penalties but I can't see many arguments as to why they shouldn't have been called. I thought the refs were pretty good last night and at the end of the night PP time was pretty close. 13-10 minutes in favour of SJ, with 5 of VAN's minutes being major time. VAN also had 1:50 to 1:15 in 2 man advantage time.
What did you see that made the refs poor last night?
Honestly I'd have to go back and watch the film since I can't even remember right now. I just don't like how lopsided the PP's have been in basically every game in the series. Game 3 was not nearly as bad as game 2 though. The missed high sticking calls on Joe and Setoguchi were just embarrassing and obviously had a huge impact on that game.
I was upset with the 5 min major on McGinn, though. From my seat, it really didn't look like it deserved 5 mins. A boarding call, yes. 5 min major? I don't know but I'd have to see it again.
Anyway, I'm headed to the tank in about an 30 mins. I will take pics and record some shit.
Kerry Fraser explained it pretty well on TSN the next day. He agreed that it was really only a 2 min penalty, but because the player was bleeding and injured the refs didn't have a choice but to go 5 minutes. If Rome was ok, it would have been 2mins tops.
I don't like how the NHL allows results to determine penalties and suspensions, but that's how they do things.

Its not the actual suit, its the shtick, thats Vancouver's thing. Its like Trashville mimicking Detroit by throwing Catfish onto the ice. That's just lame bro.

Correct, they have stated in a billion interviews now that Always sunny is where they got the idea from, except they don't do the acid before the game lol.
We couldn't see most the signs since cbc never had them in view. I really really hope someone knocks out lappiere though. That guy was a huge bitch in montreal and from what I gathered not many canadien fans even liked his shit ways.
Then they don't call the obvious slash when clowes stick exploded after being slashed.
Rofl these refs are fuckin horrible. Although you can't get worse then the ones yestarday that gave downie a diving penalty after he took a concussion.
