Detroit's good goaltending came from their strong depth of a team, and their strong defence, not from their actual goalie being anything more then a body in front of the net.

Ovechkin only got suspended 2 games for his (hmmm) check on Brian Campbell. How, even as a league acknowledged repeat offender, he still gets away lightly with some serious offences is baffling. What a hilarious injustice.

Jimmy Howard has gotten stronger as the year has gone on. Color me impressed with him. He looked like shit at the beginning of the year and I thought he would be shit the entire year, but he has done well. Holmstrom is killing it in front of the net right now, too. And the powerplay is stepping up for the first time this year. 12-for-their-last-36 on the PP and PPG in 10 straight games.

Suspension on Ovechkin is bullshit. He's the best player in the league, plays his hardest in every aspect of the game, and gets penalized for it because other players aren't doing the same. He's just as physical of a player as he is a scorer, and he gets penalized for it. The other players need to learn to man up and have an overall solid game like Ovie does instead of being little bitches and making Ovie look like the outlier.

Ovechkin makes a load of great legal hits. However he supplements it with slewfoot, checking from behind, boarding far too often to simply say it's an unfortunate consequence of playing hard. He is reckless and disrespectful to his opponents.

If he were a 10 goal a season grinder he'd be thought of like the Matt Cooke's of this world.
