Feared Dutch Knockout specialist Melvin Manhoef is all set to do battle with none other than the “Grabaka Hitman” Kazuo Misaki at the year end DREAM and Sengoku promoted event, “Dynamite!! 2009“.

FiveOuncesofPain.com has recently received confirmation of the match-up through sources close to one of the fighters.

“Dynamite!! 2009″ will be taking place on New Years Eve, December 31, from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, with the live broadcast being televised stateside on HDNet.
      RIP Misaki

Disappointed that the Aoki/Kawajiri fight fell through, but still a five-star card.

I would not be surprised at all if Hirota beat Aoki.

So many interesting fights. Makes UFC 108 look like a Fight Night card.

            Tatsuya Kawajiri

Well, I hope to have a great New Year's Eve and welcome in a great year. When fans and staff ask me to step up, I will. I want to give it my all so I can start off the new year nicely.

Thoughts on the fight with Aoki not materializing:

I'm not sure if it's because of this whole DREAM vs SRC battle thing. It has no meaning, I'm not into it, and I don't plan on putting on a good fight. I will go into the ring on NYE and choke the life out of my opponent.

            Any message for your opponent?:
            None.

            Kazunori Yokota

Hello, I'm Yokota from GRABAKA. I want to talk about a few things, but the main thing on my mind is that my match is finally official. I guess my opponent is grumbling about something. If it was decided that it was going to be a SRC vs DREAM fight, I wish they would've told me earlier so I can mentally prepare. I was worried about getting tickets, to be honest. But it's official now so I have to get my fighting spirit in tune. All that's left is to fight.

And a while ago I said that "beating Kawajiri and Ishida is OK, but it means nothing unless you beat Gomi." That was because both guys lost to Gomi. now Kawajiri is a skilled fighter and is now well-known, especially after fighting Masato. I've won fights but I'm not a household name. That why I want to win this fight - to get my name out there.

I'm certainly more motivated and I want to show that. Oh and one more thing. Kawajiri fought Kouzo Takeda on NYE as well as Masato with K-1 rules. I can tell you that I would most definitely win a K-1 fight with Kawajiri. (At this point Aoki interrupts, "Enough . Shut the hell up already!") You're annoying. Anyways, I would've done much better against Masato. I'm confident that I would have fought a better fight. And I will prove that on NYE. But I'm sure my opponent will try to go for takedowns. It'll be up to me to stave off those takedowns and keep it a standing fight. Please root me on.

            Any message for your opponent?:

I respect my opponent. I hope he can get motivated and put on a good fight. I want to do my best so that after the fight I can get on the mic.

            None.
            Mizuto Hirota

Well it's official that I will be fighting Aoki as part of the DREAM vs SRC battle. I guess he doesn't know who I am, so I'm thinking I'll kick his ass.

On Aoki saying DREAM will win every fight:
I'll throw those words right back at him. SRC will sweep.

            Any message to Aoki?:
I'm going to kick your ass. That's it.

            On impressions of DREAM:
            Hmm....channel 6. That is all.

            Shinya Aoki

It was actually decided that it'd be me vs Kawajiri on NYE for the title. Both me and Kawajiri agreed and we were supposed to close out the year in grand fashion, but things changed. I'm not sure how I feel. Sasahara event producer, and the staff were on board. But to get besmirched, I can't excuse that. They told me to go take them down, so I will go take them down. Please look forward to NYE.

On getting motivated with the fight becoming official just nine days prior to the event:

I'm a professional fighter. This is what I do, so there's no problems whatsoever. But it feels like my parent's honor was crushed and I can't excuse that. I'm sorry, but we're going to crush them and win all the matches.

            Any message for your opponent?:

I'm going to do my best to win convincingly and have that serve as a reconfirmation that DREAM is absolutely fun to watch.

            On impressions of SRC:

What's Sengoku without Takahiro Kokuho, Kitaoka, or Gomi? That's my take. I take my job very seriously and I will give it my all on December 31st and earn my pay.
LOL @ how angry Kawajiri sounds. You can tell he REALLY wanted Aoki on NYE. Aoki is such a douche, but what else is new.

Jason High on twitter said Mousasi will fight Goodridge on the show.

              Might be a k-1 fight.

Not sure if it's been confirmed, haven't seen any updates since the initial story broke about negotiations being held for the Mousasi K-1 fight.

Masato has been training for Souwer since this summer. There should be no excuse for him losing, especially with the 'creative' judging in K-1. I have a strong dislike for both, but I'd rather see Souwer win. I don't think Masatp really retires anyway....Ishii should take Yoshida pretty easily, seeing as the latter is no spring chicken....Gary Goodridge has no business being in the ring anymore, let alone against an elite fighter like Mousasi....My hate for Misaki and love for Manhoef instantly overrides all logic, so I'm hoping for a violent KO by Manhoef....Aoki and Hirota will be HUGE fight. Two Top 10 LWs going at it. I can easily see Aoki winning this, but so does Aoki and I think it will be his downfall. Hirota is a very intelligent fighter and I think he'll win - thus ruining the opportunity to see Aoki face Kawajiri when both have momentum.....Crusher cruises against Yokota. He struggled against a good grappler in Mitsuoka and Kawajiri is much stronger and has the power in his hands to make Yokota hesitate to clinch....My gut tells me to go with Kanehara, but I think KID is too good to let his bad luck continue. Kanaehara is a homeless version of KID, so there shouldn't be anything he hasn't seen before....Hideo Tokoro is too goddamn inconsistent to say he's a lock for anything, but he lucked out with Marlon Sandro's injury and his replacement has been on a terrible streak of losses.....Mach and Gono is a total push IMO. I love both of these guys and I'd hate to see either lose. Gono has lost against top opponents (Hornbuckle, Hardy and Fitch), but seems to have gotten his shit together again, while Mach has underperformed as usual with his only worthwhile win being against a vastly undersized Aoki. Still Mach is still incredibly talented, but I think Gono just wants it more than he does.....Takaya and Omgiawa should be a barnburner and probably the fight I'm looking forward to the most. Despite his questionable decision wins, Omigawa has really found his home at FW and has improved in his striking. He should have a strength advantage that he will use in the clinch, but Takaya has good power in his hands and could clip him. A coin-flip, but I like Omigawa to continue the feel good story of 2009....Izumi's striking is garbo, but with his grappling credentials he can eek out a decision for sure. But fuck that, Shibita is steadily expanding his skillset and is one of the most passionate guys around. He's like Clay Guida, but actually exciting. ...... On paper, EVERYTHING points to an easy win for Sokoudjou. But as we all know, Soko gasses after five minutes like clockwork. If Minowaman can survive Soko's initial storm, he'll find a way to get to the ground. Minowa by ankelock......Overeem by tiger knee in yet another squash match for him....Nishijima is shot and was never that good to begin with, and Sefo is way past his prime (and an incredible douchebag for his comments about Overeem)....No one really gives a fuck about K-1 Koshien because every knows that's it just platform for FEG's Golden Boy in waiting Hiroya. He'll get gift decisions and win regardless.
