For some reason I thought that the tournament was going to be played similar to the World Jrs. Top 1/2 get a bye, and teams 3-6 play a quarter final match.

Instead it's 1-4 that get byes, and 5-12 play for a chance to go to the quarters.

I just watched a quick recap of it and I didn't realize when the russians where shooting there at the end the puck kept bouncing all over the place. On ovy and malkins missed shots the puck was skipping around all over the place. I wonder if the ice is taking a beating.
