Agreed.. I thought given the circumstances Toney actually held on a lot longer then I wouldve expected. Shame on Randy for not being able to do work quicker. Its a joke if Toney dont get another chance.. we need to see someone foolish enough to box with dude. He got fed to the wolves on this one..

Who was that fruit who was telling me about boxing footwork and the ability to land deadly combo's when I guy shoots in for a takedown?

Also, nothing to do with Toney being old and fat, boxers don't train to stop takedowns, boxing footwork is for boxing, a boxer spends zero minutes a day stopping a takedown and spends another zero minutes throwing punches from there back

If it was Pacman vs Faber it would have been the same result

Thats why the first UFC was created by the Gracie's, style vs style with limited rules

NHB/MMA allows everyone to do what they know, James Toney was not handicapped at all in this fight, he was allowed to use his boxing plus more, it is the middle ground for all combat sports

No point in Randy doing boxing

Randy started in MMA as a wrestler, thats his base art, he would have taken Toney 15 years ago with the same technique, would have just finished with punches though instead of the arm triangle

Also, 'MMA guys' do box, some do ok, not on the elite level but they can survive, they are not fish out of water

I was expecting Couture to work in some leg kicks, clinch game, and dirty boxing. He had the opportunity to really make a statement, turn this into a legendary fight, but blew it. Instead he dove at his ankles the first opportunity he got. Looked like some weak ass tackle animation on Madden.
