    Wrong.

Steve Cantwell & Carlos Condit both came into the UFC having been the final WEC champions at 205 and 170, respectively. iDid they get immediate unification bouts?
Were they told they'd have unification bouts? No. This is in the same boat as when they do their lame interim title matches or on the lines of a Dan Henderson as Pride Champion.

Just the mention of Karo makes me a sad panda. Before the injuries he was dropping fools on their heads constantly.

            lol

And when was the last time anyone actually gave a shit about the 2 fighters in a draw? I'm not undervaluing the importance of fighter on the undercard, but no one cares about that fight being a draw. I'm more so talking about a draw in a championship match.

Shit like this just doesn't happen often.

I understand where Kuzzy is coming from, in that Pettis did win the fight that he was told would get him a unification bout.

However, I don't think it's a giant travesty that he isn't getting it right away. Maynard/Edgar 2 was a razor close fight that was declared a draw. I can't really blame the UFC for wanting to do a rematch right away as I think the fans deserve a winner of that fight as technically, Edgar has still never beat Maynard (0-1-1). I'd like to see him clear that hurdle once and for all before moving on.

Also, Pettis DID NOT have to take this fight. However, it is probably the best move. He keeps his name in the news, beats a guy that UFC fans know and love, and collects a pay cheque. Should he lose, that sucks and hind sight will be 20/20. I do think that a guy that's fighting for the belt should be able to beat Guida though.

Uno Camoes was a prelim fight IIRC. An event that happens every 40-50 shows isn't planned for.

But people (mainly me and Kuzzy) give a shit about Caol Uno.

The point is, after the fight there was still a champion (Frankie). That champion was supposed to fight Pettis. Gray is the one that should be waiting, not Anthony. Theres no point in having #1 contender matches in a ZUFFA promotion, because they essentially mean nothing.

I acknowledged that. Do you ever read a full post, or do you go straight to troll mode?

They put him in a tough position, and I think a fight against Guida, assuming he wins, will provide the best of both worlds. He'll get his name out there with the casuals, and have a chance at a fatter payday in the title fight

Like Rob said, Pettis gotta eat. And hes likely making significantly less then most of the fighters already in the LW division. He had no choice but to take the fight with Guida.
