-The Great Muta came into WCW in 1989, and immediately caught fire and main evented against Flair, Sting, and Luger. He was so over, that people still talk about him today, over 20 years later, like he was a WCW regular. He was there for like 6 months.

-Sabu never said a word his entire career until Vince made him cut that awful promo on WWECW.

-Mil Mascaras was a dynamic lucha flyer who never cut an english promo in his life, but main evented in every territory he ever was a part of.

All three came into territories and were so dynamic, so original, so charasmatic, that it didnt matter that they never spoke. Mistico was supposed to do the same. He hasnt gotten over because his athleticism and flying hasnt lived up to the hype. It has nothing to do with the fact he hasnt spoke.
You still can't compare those instances to modern day WWE. Totally different beast.

Nobody gets over because they can work a great match right off the bat. Look at the most recent guys who have made their way to the main event....Miz, Punk, Del Rio (that may be it...lol). Only Punk has been proven to be able to work a good match. The one common denominator, they can all talk extremely well.

Another thing, Sabu and Mysterio were legit displaying stuff those audiences hadn't seen up that point. Mistico is not going to be doing never before seen stuff on Smackdown. It's not how their system works.

Mysterio would definitely be the closest comparison though. The man debuted in WCW and got over based on amazing matches.

If Mistico isnt going do stuff you've never seen before, plus cant speak english, then why on earth do they think he is special and why would they have such high expectations?

Of course they expected him to be dynamic and do shit people have never seen before. That's the whole point. He isnt delivering. And since he isnt delivering, he really has nothing else going for him.

I'm not sure that the Cena-cheering WWE crowd has ever seen a flux capacitor. Then again, while a sharp fan, Empire has always been a little overly favorable to WWE.

We're still just a month into his SD run. I'm willing to give Mistico the rest of the summer before I label him a failure.

I said it from the beginning...Mistico would flop badly. You can't recreate Rey Mysterio...not in the environment that wrestling is in today.
WWE sources indicate that Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the original Sin Cara, was sent home from Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after meeting with company officials. He left the Scotiabank Saddledome before the event's conclusion.

Company sources say developmental talent Jorge Arias (a/k/a Hunico) will exclusively portray the Sin Cara character going forward. WWE wants to maintain the character since its been very popular among kids and in merchandise sales.

Many employees expect Alvirde to part ways with the organization, but that is not 100% confirmed.

WWE re-shot a match between Sin Cara and Heath Slater at Tuesday's taping since the initial bout featured numerous botched maneuvers. Aries portrayed Cara in both matches. Alvirde was dressed to compete, but management opted not to use him.
