Carwin is planting the seeds for his own war of words.
Carwin, and whoever else, can complain all they want, but Lesnar was the biggest draw in the sport (and the biggest PPV draw PERIOD if PBF & Oscar retire) before the infamous promo, and now he's an even bigger star because of the middle fingers and PROWRES antics.
People will keep paying to see someone beat his ass, and when someone finally does, they will instantly become a mega star because of it.
Carwin knows Brock can make him famous.Comment

The best thing for business now, is for someone to beat Lesnar.
Lesnar is locked and loaded as a mega draw, and the biggest star in the sport. And as an added bonus, he's hated. A loss wouldnt hurt him one bit right now.
Whoever beats him instantly becomes a monster draw. Dana would be an absolute fool to put the Nog/Couture winner against him. It needs to be the Carwin/Cain winner. Those guys need the rub, Couture and Nog are already established.Comment

I know man, I just get wrapped up in the business side. You know that.
Originally posted by Steel MambaReally the best thing is Fedor vs Lesnar before anyone else tho. They need to use Lesnars drawing power in order to introduce Fedor to the casual fans.
Fedor dosen't need Dana, and really, Dana dosen't need him. Meaning neither side will budge.
Dana shouldn't blow his entire pay scale, not coming off what will surely be his most successful event ever.
Fedor has nothing to prove to anyone, and someone in Japan will pay him what he wants to beat giants and pro wrestlers.
I just don't see it, not with the current landscape.Comment

It's still a pipe dream.

He doesn't need him, but he wants him. I'm not a huge Dana White fan personally, but I can't deny that for better or worse he is very up front and genuine. So when he says he wants to sign Fedor and the signing is imminent I definitely believe him. I think the only thing that can stop that from happening is Fedor losing to Barnett.
From Fedors perspective I still see the most money for him being in the UFC. Whatever he doesn’t get in guaranteed pay the PPV backend and sponsorships will more than make up for. I know he’s likely getting a piece of Afflictions PPVs, but Affliction isn’t putting up the numbers that the UFC is. So, if you take everything into consideration I’m sure he’ll come out better in the UFC. Plus, I still believe that these guys want to fight the best and challenge their selves and there are some good matches for Fedor in the UFC.
From the UFC’s perspective the time is finally perfect, because now their ROI for Fedor will be more than worth it. Brock Lesnar vs Fedor would be the biggest fight in MMA history. With Brock being the bad guy, if you do a 24/7 show like they did with GSP/Penn I guarantee you Fedor is going to win over a lot of the casual fan base. He’ll become a huge star by fighting and beating Brock. So now with that you have yet another huge draw in your org and an amazing talent. If Brock loses it really won’t hurt him much, a lot of people will still want to see him fight. It’s an amazing win/win business situation for the UFC. In that circumstance Fedor will make the UFC a lot of money.Comment

Everyone wants it, and I hope we get it.
I just don't see it.
Dana hates Josh Barnett already, imagine if he knocks off Fedor.Comment

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic's on-again, off-again relationship with the UFC is appears to be officially in the on position, and documented.
The Croatian heavyweight has signed a three-fight contract extension with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. UFC president Dana White confirmed the signing to Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole on Monday.
After a disappointing first run through the UFC in 2007, Cro Cop went back to Japan to re-tool his arsenal. He re-emerged in the Octagon at UFC 99 with a TKO win over Mustapha Al-Turk.
Following UFC 99, reports quickly spread that instead of remaining in the UFC, Cro Cop would instead head back to Japan to accept a three-fight offer from Dream. Even though a fight between Cro Cop and Siala "Mighty Mo" Siligia was revealed, pen was never put to paper.
Now under officially under contract with the UFC, Cro Cop is already slated to return to the Octagon on Sept. 19 in Dallas. He will face rising Brazilian heavyweight Junior dos Santos.
"It’ll be a big opportunity in my career," dos Santos commented recently on graciemag.com. "Lots of good things have happened in my life and this is one more. I'm going to make the most of it."
According to Croatian website Index.hr, UFC executive Lorenzo Fertitta recently flew to Cro Cop's hometown of Zagreb to negotiate his return and make him "an offer he couldn't refuse."
According to the Yahoo! report, White blamed much of the confusion over Cro Cop's contract situation on the Croatian's manager, Ken Imai.
"I've said this many times, and I'll say it again: there's some crooked (expletive) that goes on in Japan," said White over the UFC 100 weekend. "They're all crooked; there's some sneaky (expletive) going on over there. That's always a big problem. These guys that are in the fight business over there, for my Mexican friends, 'no bueno.'"Comment
