G4 did a top 100 video game countdown series. One of the talking heads involved was Phil Davis...dude has a dry sense of humor but he's pretty damn funny.

At the underground, a thread on self defense tactics for women...this is the first reply
I did read through the article, but think my mum made it clear to me how women do self-defense after I started getting into it.
'I might be weaker and I might be smaller, but I can stick my keys and fingers into your eyes, I can kick your balls, I can scratch your face and I can rip out your hair. I don't give a fuck if it's fair or not, I'm going to win'.
I choked mom out with a quickness just to show her she couldn't pull the trigger against her own son, but I think that taught her a valuable lesson on top of what she said.

I don't know much about MMA outside of UFC and what not, but a buddy told me to check out a guy who fought in Dream named Joachim Hansen. I'm Norwegian so that's why he told me about the guy.
Anyone know much about him? Good, overrated... any details really.Comment

Here is one of his better fights against Eddie Alvarez in DREAM.

He currently isn't doing too hot since he moved down to featherweight, but in his peak he is/was a fantastic upper-tier lightweight that will probably go down under-appreciated as time moves on. He only briefly held the Shooto (when Shooto was a big deal) and DREAM titles. Win or lose, he ALWAYS came to fight and has put on several wars. I highly recommend watching his fights. Calgaryballer is a huge fan of him, too.

I wish there would be a Norwegian fighter that would come out and dominate, or even just a competent one that appears that would make it past facebook prelims lol.Comment

Former training partner of Ronda Rousey became the first American to win gold in Judo.
Yahoo/Hendricks
The United States had never won a gold medal in judo, until Thursday. Kayla Harrison won gold in the 78 kg (171.9 lbs) weight division in a 2-0 win over British judoka Gemma Gibbons.
This was the first Olympics for Harrison, who is just 23. She attended the 2008 Olympics to train with eventual bronze medal-winner (and current Strikeforce MMA champion) Ronda Rousey. Harrison was inspired by watching Rousey get to the podium.
Harrison earned her gold by beating Russian Vera Moskulyak, then Hungarian Abigel Joo. In the semifinals, she took out Brazilian Mayra Aguiar, then topped off her gold medal run by winning over Gibbons in front of her home crowd.
After the win, she leaped into the stands, where her fiance was waiting to hug her and drape her in the American flag.
