Fedor would have to be chizzled out of stone to legitimately make 210 me thinks. That dude is big boned.Comment

Looks like Roger Gracie will be fighting on the August 15th Strikeforce card
Roger fights August 15
Gracie to make Strikeforce debut
Not having stepped in the ring since last May, when he submitted Yuki Kondo at Sengoku and brought his record to two wins in two appearances, in MMA, Roger Gracie will be one of the attractions August 15 at Strikeforce. The bout should be officially announced by the organizers next week. For the time being no opponent has been named for the black belt's debut on American soil.
Until then Roger is training while basking in the glory of having won his second absolute black belt title at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, which you can find complete coverage of in GRACIEMAG 148, which will start to be shipped next week. Click here to pre-order your issue.
The August 15 installment of Strikeforce will feature the female bout of Cris Cyborg against Gina Carano as a main event.Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Also, word is KJ Noons might be coming back to MMA and fight for Strikeforce and still do some boxing too
Noons vs the winner of Josh or Gil would be great, Noons was really coming along in his MMA career until the whole EliteXC fall out happened, has some of the best boxing in MMA besides the Krazy Horse KO he was lighting people upLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

To be fair, Dana White is probably the single biggest reason the UFC is where it is. If I thought it was going to be an indepth look at what has made the UFC so successful, instead of a giant marketing shill, I might be interestedComment

Maybe it will be like the Oprah magazine and we can get a different Dana White cover ever month!Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

TUF Dana didnt even want to do, he wanted some BS Dana White show or something like that, people didnt say afterward 'Did you see Dana White dropping F bombs, it was fantastic!', no they liked watching Griffin vs Bonnar, etc...
The modified rules had a lot to do with the sports acceptance and getting back on TV and making it a legit sport in the medias eyes, Dana had nothing to do with that and was already in place before he showed up
The Ferreties money was another big thing, they lost a bunch and kept it going, without there willingness to lose money the UFC would have closed up shop or been sold long ago
For him to be on the cover og the first issue throwing a punch is just comically to me
The fighters see this and know the UFC doesnt want them to be the stars, they rather promote the UFC and Dana WhiteLast edited by Liquidrob; 06-28-2009, 05:20 PM.Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

I think Dana has done some good things like I have said in the past, but he gets way to much credit for shit he had little to do with

so then why dont they all leave? penn could of make buckets of money somewhere else but chose to come back to the UFC, and that could be said for any of their big name fighters. i agree having white on the front cover is pretty lame but its not the end of the worldComment

Like I said, showtime is promoting fedor on there web site, they're not doing it just for fun, there has to be something to it, strikeforce is coming strong, if they could get Fedor and Tito it would be big and they would have a legit PPV to promote
Fedor is the x-factor in MMA right now, strikeforce could say they have the best fighter in the world and be right, not some made up hypeLast edited by Liquidrob; 06-28-2009, 10:36 PM.Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

yeah, fedor doesnt have to, but if he was serious about being a star in the US Tito would be a great fight for him, he could make 210 easily, he is only like 230 with a lot of extra weight, he would than smash tito and get all of titos fan to jump abroad, they probably could even get tito to do it at 215 or whatever

Can't say I'd pay money to see Fedor smash Tito, it seems like a silly match to me. But, I think Fedor wants to fight the best, that's the key, but of course he wants to make as much money as possible at the same time. That's why he's fighting in America now instead of overseas and that's how the Tito match would make sense for Fedor. Everyone wants to make as much money as they possibly can, whether they're proven or not.Comment

Money, for most fighters more money is still in the UFC, competition, and reputation/fame. Oh, and a lot of them would have a hard ass time getting out of those UFC contracts ala Randy Couture.Last edited by Steel Mamba; 06-28-2009, 11:14 PM.Comment

i dont think Fedor really cares about becoming a star in america. he has nothing left to prove. if he doesnt become a star over here like he is overseas i doubt its going to bother him much. im sure Scott Coker would give his left nut to get Fedor and Tito in a fight but i really doubt Fedor is going to go out of his way to drop weight to fight Tito unless he had some strong urge to fight him. Fedor is getting a million plus if hes fighting Tito or Hong Man Choi again . its a fight id love to see but who knows if it would ever really materialize.
Affliction has done it, Strikeforce would do the same hopefully, they usually have more open contracts, Overeem has been fighting K1, etc...
Dropping that weight isnt much work, he can do 10 like nothing starting the night before, its not like it will kill him
In the end, if Tito wants to fight Fedor he probably will have to do it at HW which shouldnt be that big of a deal for Tito, he just is trying to get Fedor to cut to get some type of edgeLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings
