It's foolish to pick against GSP at this point. Same goes for Anderson Silva. And Fedor.

The guy I'm surprised everyone is picking against is Bisping. I think he's going to beat Henderson pretty soundly, but it seems almost everyone is writing Bisping off.Comment

I'm picking GSP, but wouldnt be shocked to see Alves TKO him, its all about stopping the takedown
With that said, GSP is going maul him on the ground after all the juice runs out of Alves body in the 3rd
Also, will it even be a title fight? Will Alves miss weight again?Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Diaz/Riggs for the title?
A rematch between rivals Nick Diaz and Joe Riggs at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg could be for the vacant welterweight belt, MMAInsider has learned from sources close to the fight.
Negotiations for the Aug. 15 bout are nearly completed, though Strikeforce has yet to make a formal announcement.
The two first fought at UFC 57, where Riggs won a three-round unanimous decision. Later, they engaged in post-fight brawl at a Las Vegas hospital. Their enmity towards each other hasn't faded since.
Riggs defeated Phil Baroni by unanimous decision in his last appearance at Strikeforce: Shields vs. Lawler in June. The UFC veteran believed he broke both hands during the course of the fight, but the extent of injuries turned out to be less severe, with damage to the small bones in his wrist. He has begun training again.
Diaz outboxed middleweight Scott Smith on the main card of St. Louis event.
With Cung Le apparently shelved until the end of the year, a source from Diaz's camp said a title was the only worthwhile option for Riggs.

Would not be shocked in the least if Alves beats GSP...he is the 'dog and all, but Alves is one of, if not the hottest fighter in the world right now...definitely has that M-O going for him.Comment

Bisping is not all that amazing of a fighter. There is a reason he hasn't faced ANYONE near or even close to the top of his division. He only fights against guys that have less experience or are several years past their prime. Hendo may not be great, but he is the best Bisping has ever fought and Bisping (should have) lost to Hammel, so this should be another loss for the Brit.
I see Hendo in the 2nd round by TKO.Comment

From Meltzer's update today...horrible news....
--Lavar Johnson, a heavyweight with Strikeforce who had an impressive debut on the Showtime card in May, beating Carl Seumanutafa in just :18, is fighting for his life after a shooting just after midnight on Saturday night. Johnson was one of five men caught in a shooting spree when an a man opened fire with a semiautomatic handgun at a family reunion 4th of the July party in Bakersfield. The police believe, from eye witness reports, that three men were walking past the house, and a man believed to be an African-American in his teens started firing shots at the house. A relative, Anthony Johnson, 37, was killed in the shooting and three others were seriously injured.
He really made a name for himself that night, people love the quick & impressive KO's. He cut a good promo, too. This is sad.Comment
