Thats really funny actaully. I could never get him.

But yea ha can play regardless. There were very minor whispers about Utd chasing him, they chose Chicharito instead. So far so good on that one.

Sounders win another one. 4 game win streak in MLS play. Great mid-season push to try to save our season. Kasey Keller got his first assist of the season. Newly acquired Alvaro Fernandez scores his first MLS goal in the 88th minute. Fredy Montero continues his quest for the Golden Ball with a goal and an assist in tonights game. Making his involvement in 14 of the last 17 goals for the Sounders.

Newcastle are on the verge of signing Hatem Ben Arfa on loan for the season

We have to pay 800k just to loan him but there is an option to sign him after the loan.

I'm pleased, he is a young player who people have regarded highly for quite some time and he will add some much needed speed/mobility to our midfield.

I'm still doing my best to get my hopes up. I just keep thinking about Modric, and Diarra, an all the other transfers we've fucked up right at the end.

Martin O'Neill has quit as the Villains Bossman. WTF! The timing for this is crazy. Wow.... strange. I think some time back he wanted to give Ashley Young a raise, Randy Lerner said no, and also said Young could go to Tottenham if they got back James Milner type dollars. It seemed Matrin just had enough, and said bye bye. Still, the timing is fucking horrendous. Too bad for Villa.

                  According to sources

They were selling Milner [which we knew] and Ashley Young and O'Neill wanted to be given all the money from those deals to spend.

Lerner only wanted to give him a small percentage and Martin walked

There has also reportedly been some friction in the past between them.

All I can say is good luck Villa, you fired a manager who took your team to 6th three times and a cup final. I'd hate to be the new manager trying to live up to those expectations with that team.

That team w/o Milner and Young. Jeez, sucks for them. Hell pop up somewhere though. GL to him....

They had a look into net spending per year (2006-2010) on Sky Sports News, taking into account money spent on transfers and money made from transfers each year.

Man City (obviously top spenders) - £65.8 or 68.5 who cares

Tottenham (not 'arry surely?!? Tottenham couldn't possibly compete with Man City the "transfer bullies") and Villa - £16.5m each per year

                      Chelsea - £2.6m

Man Utd - £0.6m (obviously helped by taking in £80m for a fag)

Arsenal were actually making £6.0m a year

What was the point in Capello calling up young players then starting the same shitty team that we've seen 5million times?

Yay Gerrard and Lampard in the midfield v Hungary. THIS WILL SHOW US LOTS OF NEW THINGS

At least we get to see John Terry back in the lineup

God knows what i'd do if we tried somebody who isin't a total fuckup at center back.

Gerrard's two goals were fucking great though. Glad to see Jagielka get some national team time as well.

I know it seems like I only talk about Le Toux in this thread...but damn he had a ridiculous one-touch flick off of a throw-in to set up Mwanga's goal tonight
