Nick Diaz did not play the game, replaced by Carlos Condit
Still can't believe they killed this fight, what a joke, this was a superfight and the only interesting fight for GSP besides And1 who he wants none of
This is the way Diaz hypes fight, this is his deal
Remember when Carwin stopped doing media and wouldnt hype the Brock fight? Why didnt they stop that? The UFC overall lacks charisma, now they got rid of a star
It would be one thing if Gracie was saying "Nick is training, he doesn't want to interrupt his routine, blah blah" and Nick was calling Zuffa and telling them straight up "I'm not showing up, see you in Toronto". But the guy flaked for three days, snuck out of Gracie's house at one pointg and turned off his phone, and disappeared. Gracie even suggested they remove him, the guy is unstable. You have millions at stake here, I don't like the Condit fight at all, but jeez, I can't blame them for pulling the guy.
It's how he blew off the press conference, rob. He pulled some Dann Quinn shit.

C'Mon Rob, when even Cesar is saying the UFC should call the fight off you know they've made the right move. Cesar has defended his boy to the death in the past.

Cesar just protecting his current guys under the zuffa contract, he knows what will happen GG style if he doesnt say that
I dont think anyone would've thought it was outlandish for Rampage's fight to be cancelled either, BUT I do believe when it happened it was fresh off another fight, and im not sure his next fight had even been named at that point (I believe it was after Forest, before Wandy). Had Nick gotten into some kind of legal issues and could still fight, im sure the UFC would've move forward, but the slap in their face is something they shouldnt stand for as a business model.
Not even you can buy the "this is how Nick hypes fights" garbage, Nick doesnt give a fuck about hyping the fight or anything but getting into the cage and fighting. And thats fine.. but you have to accept the consequences of your actions.
Nick has blown off pressers before, this is nothing new
He's never blown off a UFC presser as a main eventer.
Besides, he blew them off for days, going MIA in the process. It's not even like he talked to Lorenzo or Dana or Silva on the phone and said hey, I can't make it because blah blah blah. He acted like a kid.
Athletes have doen this before, but when it's the UFC we tar and feather the guy and everyone backs them, fuck the fans, no one wanted this fight anyway
