I'll have to contribute mine later but until the Caps make it into the Conference Finals I will never pick them to make it past the second round.

I'll give the caps a pass by the first round this year, but no way does Vokoun make them an auto Stanley Cup team.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

      "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Wild disparity on the Oilers. KG has them in the playoffs, others have them 30th again. I haven't followed the rest of the league that close, but I'll be happy with a push for 8th and a likely 10th place finish. Next year is when I expect more

I'm giving them a pass just because of the whole youth still growing issue.

They really need to get to work on the dman core and find a goalie.

Should add too. There's been a ton of rumours of Edm - Tor talking right now. It started with Eklund but others (that idiot steve simmons for example) are starting to say talks have been going for a while. Toronto has an insane amount of defensive depth and has enough goalies kicking around right now to make some decent deals with them.

Hemskys name keeps getting thrown out there.

Hemsky has been out there for what feels like 3 years. I love the guy, but I don't know if Edmonton is where he reaches his potential.

I don't think he reaches it wherever he plays.

I don't follow hockey at all, so I have what may be a stupid question.

Do they plan on realigning the divisions to get Winnipeg out of the Southeast? Looks like Nashville would be a decent fit to move into that division, and then there are plenty of options in the Western Conf to move things around a bit.

Like we talked about in the thread Obst posted everything will change next season. They ran out of time to do it this year since the schedules were all set by the time the team was announced.

East: Rangers, Bruins, Capitals, Flyers, Penguins, Panthers, Devils, Leafs
West: Red Wings, Sharks, Canucks, Blackhawks, Blues, Kings, Stars, Predators
