Kind of funny since you were saying at one point in the season that it was "a privilege to watch them". It isn't like also the Ducks are a bad team. They got loads of talent that just didn't spark high in the regular season. This team could have easily been 4th or 5th in the West.

Penguins sometimes I just don't know. They rule in game 4, and have a chance to close it out, then drop it 3-0 on home ice. Hopefully this ends Saturday.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Flyers have been knocking on the door every game this series, Fleury stole Game 4. I wasn't surprised in the least that the Flyers extended the series, two evenly matched teams on skill but one needed it more on that particular night.

        it's just joe being joe.

a solid -3. it was nice to see him coasting around......alone in the high slot when Ryan scored the first time.

then it was AWESOME when he decided to do the same thing on the 2nd goal.

but hey, to top it off he decided to beautifully assist Getzlaf to set up Perry for the 3rd goal.

FUCKING STUNNING PLAY FROM JOE THORNTON. GOTTA LOVE THE PLAYOFFS. EVERYONE TURNS IT UP A NOTCH AND HE TURNS IT COMPLETELY FUCKING OFF.

5 goals in 40 playoff games, you are my fucking hero Joe.

Guys like him and Oli Jokinen have some kind of bad fucking mojo or something. Sure they have world class hockey talent, but down the stretch and in the postseason their teams always turn into giant peices of shit.

The Calgary Flames were a much better hockey team before they acquired Jokinen, there is no doubt. Whether he's producing or not, the W's were more frequent without him.

Much like how the Sharks were a final four team, without Thornton. Or the Bruins were a one and done team, with him.

He better not even be considered for the 2010 team. Fucking useless tit.

The pressure isn't as intense in any other city... come on now. How can you compare MTL to Vancouver or Toronto? Sure they got a good fan base but have you seen ours? We are probably the most spoiled fan base in all of sports. Anything besides a Stanley Cup every year is considered a disappointment and might merit serious change-ups within the organization.

Personally, I would keep Gainey but he has to get over his man-crush on Price. He shows potential but he can use a few years on the bench while Halak tears it up.

I think this sentiment is shared by most NHL players.
A lot of French-Canadien players feel right at home here in Montreal. If you play good you are considered a hero, if you suck balls then you will never hear the end of it...

The days of expecting a Cup are long gone though Mini, and I think you Canadiens fans need to come to terms with it. Sure, if you do the math, Montreal has won a cup every 4 years, but they haven't won a cup, or even played in a final since 1993. 16 years without as much as a glimpse of the finals. The days of "expecting a cup every year" are old, because this isn't the Montreal Canadiens of old. I'd even go as far to say, you could almost split the habs into two different teams. The teams of then, the ones with all the cup runs and 24 cups. And the team from 1993 to now, with one cup and a lot of hurt.

I just find it silly is all that you guys expect a cup every year when your team hasn't made it in 16 years. Rabib fans or not.

You also have to take in to account that the team does not only represent hockey but also an entire french culture revolving around Quebec...

I know the glory days are long gone... but MTL fans will likely never accept anything less than EXCELLENCE.

And these are the people who management is suppose to listen to? People with unrealistic expectations? Yeah, because that will sure put a cup in their hands.

Frankly, I'd trade Price. I don't think he can take the pressure of playing in Montreal.
Gainey may be too stubborn to admit it. He was still calling Price a thoroughbred after the Boston series.

For whatever reason, Montreal is determined that Price is the next Martin Brodeur - even if he hasn't even come close to that standard.

There's nothing wrong with Price. It's his 2nd year for fuck's sake and he's played pretty well over the course of that time.

The team in front of him was playing above their talent last year, and this year they came back down to earth and actually played worse. Let alone the defensive injuries near the end there.

If you are winning they love you, if you are losing they hate on you. What the fuck kind of fan base is that? You can't be champions every season in a 30 team league and Montreal has had more success in the past two seasons than the talent level of their team warrants.

Right let's finish off these Capitals tonight. Avery is a healthy scratch and Voros replaces him.

I get the feeling this one's going to be a rout. Already thinking about Game 6.

I haven't lost all hope yet but giving up a shorty and then Lundqvist got beat from a horrible angle. Now we can go back to the Garden and take it down there.

Called it. We should've hit the road to the Garden as soon as the first puck was dropped tonight.

Hats off to Fleury, has made great saves in crucial moments throughout the series and done it again tonight for the win.
