Kaberle is a solid defenceman, with about 5-7 years of prime time play left in him. But that's a solid offer for a building club.
Methinks the leafs believe they aren't as bad as people believe, which I agree cause they aren't far from a playoff team at this point......and their lineup has a bunch of "whothefucks" on it.Comment

Kaberle is a player they said "doesn't fit what we want now, but we will need him in 3-4 years."
They need to get a few legit top 6 forwards. Blake, Antropov and Stajan, there three top points leaders, are just not it. Blake and Stajan I have a feeling would be third liners on most teams, and Antropov would perhaps be a second line player.
Leafs are just a funny team, because no matter what they do, they still sell out games. Any other hockey market and this wouldn't happen. They need to go out and get themself a big face for the team. Sundin was that for the leafs, but now, who is the face of the team? Blake, Antropov, Schenn? Schenn is to young to be the face just yet, even though here in Toronto they would make you believe he is the next coming of christ.

Both Dominic Moore and Nik Antropov WILL NOT play tonight.
It'll suck to see Moore go. I like that guy, he's the kind of "role player" you see on championship caliber teams IMO.Comment

This is a good trade for both teams, as Ottawa now has a decent goalie they can put trust into, since Gerber is now on Re-entry waivers, and Auld is basically good as done. The addition of a 2nd rounder makes it better for Ottawa. it's a good move for both teams. C-Bus needed more depth offensively and Ottawa needed another option in net. The 2nd round pick is a bit of a steal for Ottawa IMO.Comment
