Toskala can work in Toronto, don't kid yourself.
He put up elite numbers when Nabokov went down in 05-06, playing in Ron Wilson's system.
Toronto needs more defensive defencemen, plain and simple......and then you'll see great numbers out of Vesa. He has 5+ seasons of prime hockey left in him.

In his defence, there are few goalies that have ever played the game that play great with poor defence. We're talking about guys like Brodeur and Luongo.
Toskala is not in their class, but I believe he's in the group below them, which are more than capable of winning games in the spring.
Look at previous Stanely Cup goalies
Fleury vs Osgood
Ward vs Roloson
Kiprusoff vs Khabibulin
Emery vs Giguere
It doesn't take an elite goalie to win the cup! Toskala is in the same class or better than most of those listed goalies.

I think it is needless to say though, and we can agree, goaltending isn't an issue the leafs need to worry about addressing at the moment.

Yeah well he inherited a mess with not much to work with. I think he has already failed this year unless within the next half hour he makes something happen. He was brought in in November I believe (date is slipping my head at the moment) and has had 3 or so months to figure out this team and what needs to be done, and so far, nothing has happened. No moves to get draft picks or moves to get prospects. He is basically just using the same team he has, and waiting for something to fall into his lap.
