Punk basically said, "fuck your Mania payoff!", and walked out. He gives no fucks.
Mania obviously has to be re-booked. Bryan vs Trips looks like the direction based on RAW opening segment, but who knows.Comment

He doesn't care, he saves his money and was probably leaving in July anyway.Comment

Even if TNA gave Punk a $9 million/year downside, I don't think he'd go there. That's an atmosphere he would absolutely despise.Comment

Speculation that Mania was re-booked Monday and he wasn't happy with it.
Also, and this is more likely based on the Ariel Helwani interview from last Thursday, the crew found out about the new royalty payoffs with the network compared to PPV and he thought it was unfair.
He has stated for years that his last goal was to headline Mania. If he was told definitive plans counter to that on Monday, knowing this was his last Mania anyway if he was planning on leaving in July, then maybe he just said "fuck it", threw his hands, and left now.Comment

Also in that Helwani interview, he's annoyed with the part timers jumping on board for the Mania payoffs every year, and taking spots.Comment

The Helwani interview helps bring everything together. You can see a lot of the writing on the wall.
For the third straight year, we caught up with WWE Superstar CM Punk in his Chicago home to discuss his future in WWE, whether he thinks he will re-sign with the organization, his interest in taking an MMA fight, Brock Lesnar, and much more.
I think the payoffs are a huge deal for everyone and the lack of clarity they've been receiving is becoming a huge point of contention.Comment

Punk can essentially hold WWE hostage to bring him back and give him the WM 31 main event spot, but considering that wouldn't be "earning it" I don't think a person that is goal-oriented like Punk would do that.
I see where he is coming from. He was the WWE champion and didn't even main-event a show. If not for the Rock returning the past two years, Punk should have been in at least one main-event. With Batista winning the Rumble, he probably has had enough, and I can't say that I blame him.Comment
