Finally got around to watching Slammiversary.

The main event of Eric Young v. Austin Aries v. Bobby Lashley is the best match TNA has had all year. Eric Young's title reign has been shockingly good despite awful booking. Talk about a guy that took the ball and ran with it...EY has done a good job. Passionate promos...doing his best in the ring...kudos to him.

Also dug the Kenny King v. Austin Aries match.

The rest...eh...usual TNA overbooked shit...but the two aforementioned matches were good. I'd recommend the three-way cage match. I gave it ***1/2.

Plus, RAW and Smackdown are overproduced anyway...might as well cut down on gimmicks that don't help anybody. No need for huge pyro, special entrances and shit at a common RAW.
They have the hours and the programming to use them, it's so strange why they don't. They could easily have more wrestling going on during RAW and Smackdown, but the fluff is more important to them than anything else.

Oh, they've definitely needed to trim some fat. As great as it is for JTG or Sydal to collect a paycheck, it doesn't make any business sense. They should have done that before, not as a reactionary measure. They clearly got very comfortable as a North American monopoly, and were very WCW-esque in their money spending....

No wonder why TNA's belt continues to be meaningless. After EY retains on PPV in what many consider a great match by TNA standards, he loses it immediately on the next Impact.

So, is Matt Sydal going to show up on the ROH ppv tonight?

How does Wrestle-1 gain from this partnership with TNA at this point, aside from getting some of their guys seasoned in a different style of wrestling?

Neville/RVD, fun match. This despite the atrocious commentary work from Renee Young. As interviewer, she's fine. When she works NXT as color, annoying as all fuck.

Adrian Neville's reign has been great so far, hopefully they run with it, bringing in guys from the main roster for him to work with leading up to the match with Breeze.

Glad Enzo is back, guy is great.

Meanwhile....Dixie went through the table last night. Hopefully that means she's off TV for good at the end of the summer (that's logical, so that means she'll be back the following week).

The gimmicks in NXT have gotten too "cute". It feels more like a Chikara developmental show these days. One note gimmicks destined form prelims. Vaudvillains, Bo Dallas, dancing Becky Lynch (who if you didn't notice is Irish, guys), Tyler Breeze...i'm waiting for Archibald Peck & Arctic Rescue Ant to do a run in.

And LOL BO DEMPSEY. What an awful match, but I told you guys he sucked a year ago when they signed him. At least he isn't played for comedy like the rest of the roster, so there is that.

Oh, I did pop for Enzo, and I liked the RVD/Neville match a lot.

Looks like we get Kane as WWE Champion tonight, which makes sense if Danielson is going to be back soon.

Usos tag was a great opener.

The Womens match was fun, the fuck-up be damned. Hopefully they get more opportunities to work for over 5 minutes.
