TNA wasn't bad at all just before Hogan & Bischoff came in. Not great, but pretty solid. All Russo booking, too. Weird.

As for Hall... maybe it makes me a unsympathetic jackass, but I have a hard time generating a lot of sympathy for the guy. You cannot help someone who dones't want to be helped. There are options out there for him, like WWE-funded rehab. I am not going to claim overcoming addictions is easy, but a strong person can do it.

Hammered or not, the guy is on death's doorstep and has done irreparable damage to his body. Even if he accepted help, his liver and kidneys must look like hell...

He can get free help through the WWE whenever he wants. Now it may be too late. Hard to feel bad for him.

He was abused as a kid so his demons are much further than not being able to kick the drink. Not to mention his heart is fucked up (literally, not figuratively).

Not wanting to get better or seek help is terrible because his close friends have tried for years to help him out.

I think that's part of what bothers me about it. Obviously people care about the guy and have tried to push him toward getting things sorted. It just doesn't work. And yeah, there might be more there than just a straight up addiction, but lots of people use addiction to mask other issues. That's the kind of thing that rehab addresses. Not just the addiction itself but the root causes.

When he does go, it'll suck, be unfortunate but tbh, people have expected it for years.

Yes, it would be even realer(?) if this site had password recovery. Oh well. You would think being one of the only guys to bring up TNA would be a dead giveaway.

Also, you ready to take some Golden showers at UM? Maybe we'll actually develop some talent now instead of seeing the same players play at the same level every year.

I didn't know that. It sucks, but it's only impossible to overcome those demons if you make it that way. He may be in poor shape with the heart condition anyway, but he'd be worlds better than where he's at now presumably drinking himself into a coma in Nash's basement.

K-1 MAX fighter Yuichiro Nagashima (who knee'd Shinya Aoki into oblivion at Dynamite!!) is going to be making his pro wrestling debut for ZERO-1 on May 5th. My interest has been peaked.

Yeah, I still have no sympathy.

He's got children he neglects, and had many advantages that other addicts don't, including the access to free help & recovery. Oh, daddy touched you? Get over it. Be a man and don't repeat the cycle, fuck face. Especially when you have the means to do so.

Edven addicts have moments of clarity. He CHOSE to ruin himself and neglect his kids. His sob story doesn't move me a single inch. He made his bed.

Love me some Nagashima. One of the most entertaining fighters out there. Curious how he will do with Zero-1.

He's a 40+ year old man...daddy touched you? Time to get over it. Pops is a scummer, I understand...no need to be a cunt and neglect your kids.

Just wanna slap him and tell him to get it together and stop being a pussy.

Any professional wrestler will tell you that the hardest part of the job is coming up with your gimmick. You need to be outrageous and distinctive without being ridiculous. It's a subtle art, one not easily mastered.

                              Awesome article.
