Apparently, Punk is asking/has asked for a ton in contract negotiations.

The Lesnar/Heyman talks aren't necessarily to return to TV or as characters but "business relationships."

Yeah I forgot to add that. How cool would it be to have Heyman lead a stable of Punk, Colt, and Lesner. I know its not happening but would be awsome. WWE needs a new take over angle.

So, Vince reinstates Punk at the behest of Cena who threatens to forfeit the belt if he can't fight Punk. However, Vince tells him that if Punk leaves the PPV as champion, Cena's fired.

Obviously, my #1 theory changed and is now Punk winning the belt, then losing it to the MITB winner.

Will say this much, for the time being, they have raised a ton of interest in a b-PPV, Money in the Bank. Props to them for finding a way to do that and Punk for obvious reasons.


My predictions based on varying degrees of likelihood....

A (most likely) - Punk loses in his hometown to Cena and takes some time off to recharge his batteries before coming back in 2012. Cena vs. Del Rio at Summer Slam (as planned apparently).

B (Potential is there) - Punk upsets Cena and continues for however long he's signed an extension...only issue is I doubt they do Cena vs. Punk again at Summer Slam so not sure about this one.

C (Unlikely) - Punk upsets Cena to win the belt, but loses to the MITB winner (problem here is someone like Mysterio would be boo'd out of the building in Chicago against a newly crowned Punk as champ). Plus, if they still want to to Cena vs. ADR at Summer Slam, having a second title change in under a month is not ideal.

D (Better not happen) - Punk beats the ever loving shit out of Cena...but loses. Crowd's pissed in Chicago....only for the MITB winner to come out and beat Cena for the belt. Assuming it would be ADR but would they want to spoil the Summer Slam main in this type of deal? Plus, it sorta kills Punk off and makes him look like a dumbass.

The number of fans online who thought that promo was "real" is astounding. In this day and age, with the control they have over content, there is pretty much no chance that a worker is allowed to truly manage a shoot. As soon as they go off the reservation, cut the mic and cut the camera to something else. Props to Punk for a great promo and making it seem awfully real.

The funny thing is that I still don't think that was the best promo of Punk's career.

It wouldn't be the first time they gave someone established an open mic and just let them go off, within reason...

Punk will be a face at the PPV the moment the crowd sees him.

That's not too bad assuming Punk does leave. It'd have to be a war and Cena just comes this close to winning...but loses (so he can save face).

Punk getting screwed by ADR would be interesting in many ways. One, it's a taste of Punk's own medicine. Two, it would set up a potential return feud whenever Punk does return. Three, ADR can boast about destiny bullshit some more and how he did what John Cena couldn't.

Just watched the CM Punk "Shoot" for the first time...

Not quite Summer of Punk but Uncle Vince isn't going to let the guy go whole hog here.

...what will be interesting is Cena's rebuttal and how far he will take it.

Granted, Cena's bread-and-butter is to get down on his knees and fellate everyone in the crowd so they'll like him but he could do better.

I'm thinking of buying the Destination X PPV just to "support" the kind of wrestling I want to see from TNA. Then again it is a TNA PPV and it's probably just a one-off deal anyway, so I doubt I'll go through with it.

Mexican America is a hokey version of the Nation of Domination and I love it sooo much. My favorite faction next to The Embassy.

Thats what TNA loves to do, turn people for no reason. Beer Money got over like crazy as heels, then got turned face for no reason. They started to get over as faces, then quickly went back to being heels. Now they're faces again, and in a few months they'll be back to heels again with some senseless face turn in their future I'm sure.
